I'm in the process of migrating a R11 project to R10. Copy+pasting the whole track doesn't work, bad format error because R11-->R10
I'd like to avoid bouncing that channel into audio.
Thanks in advance.
Dragged a rex loop onto an existing audio track with a name. How do I find out which one I used, retrospectively??

Never mind - it's in the "Assigned Song Samples" folder in the browser. I was so used to files not showing up in there (like, when you drag something into Reason from Windows Explorer).
Thanks anyways!
Edit: CORRECTION, it's not showing up in there. That was just a loop used in a OctoRex.
It seems like samples don't show up in there at all when you drag them directly into the sequencer doesn't matter if they're stock or external
Other DAWs offer that feature, just fyi... and the ability to hot swap used samples, and much more..
Why, Reason. Why.

Yep! It is a hateful thing.
The only way to make a rex file appear by loading Dr. Octorex properly is to double click on the file itself (I do it on Mac but I think it's the same for Win)
While if you drag it into the sequencer it is irremediably converted to wav .
It's one of those things to put on the Reason 12 wishlist. But when did Props ever listen to our suggestions? maybe in 10 years they will correct the shot

yeah, I have a similar issue with a song I just finished. A few single hits were just DnD and placed...I gots no idea what the original rex or aif they are...literally 3 different drum hits which happen once
I reckon the best way to deal with the conversions to audio is pay close attention when you do and label clips?

there is actually a way. You just have to click inside the audio to get the file name (with a .rx2 extension) in comping mode.
Do a search in the system with the finder (mac or pc that is).
And that's it!
