I’ve been wanting Skope M4 for a long time now, and I’ve been getting good use out of UTL lately for transposing stuff. I feel bad for waiting for it to turn free now! Hurry up and release something new so I can throw money at you! ;)

Very good. I paid for these, and I'm happy to see they've been generously released for free. All very useful and well designed!

awesome, thank you!

question about Amp (and any VCA)—other than db operating range, what’s the difference between using the normal gain slider and the VCA slider?

I’ve seen other DAWs use VCAs for bussing and sub-bussing tracks together, but I’m unsure how VCA devices in the rack differ from using the mixer busses.

Ah! The Gain slider will let you attenuate or boost a signal level. The VCA will ONLY let you attenuate. So, what the hell good is that?

I use them both for two totally different things.

When I use LPM (Loudness Peak Meter) RE to measure R-128 loudness, I use the Gain slider to correct the difference between where its measured and where it needs to be. I can dial in a very specific +/- dB correction to hit target loudness.

The VCA, I use that for enveloping sounds. I slap a AMP as an insert effect on a audio track, and now I can just draw a sound envelope as simple VCA automation. You don't to bother with automating some 'gain' parameter where the two thirds point is 0db, and you only have so much room. You can also just plug CV into the VCA level without making things too loud.

gotcha—thank you! I really like that you get the flexibility of both in this one device, and I think this may end up replacing the Kilohearts Gain device as my go-to for gain correction. 👍🏼👍🏼

What a magnanimous gesture from the ever-splendid Mr Panda. I already owned all of these (except the M4 version of Skope), but this is a really lovely thing to do, especially in view of all the weird negativity that has been flying around the forum this week.

Three cheers for Panda!!! A truly great developer, and a gentleman to boot.
