Have any feature requests? No promise they'll get to Reason Studios, but you can still discuss them here.

Yeah I'm not sure this poll will tell us anything different than past polls. Every poll seems to be the preferences of the OP. Every feature poll seems to have some of the same stuff, some different stuff, but never all of the stuff.

I had even increased the poll options from 20 to 50 last week. That used to be an issue people ran into making these polls. But this poll doesn't even use the old cap of 20. I hope nobody ever needs to create a poll with 50 options lol, but I figured, might as well set the cap high at some arbitrary number.

They're not in a hole. Last year was their best year yet, right?

High res & scalable UI.
Scale in Piano roll.
New sampler.
Step Input.
Integration of Recycle.

A clip launcher isn't needed but would help them in their marketing (hey we're just like Ableton Live!).

What do you need from ReCycle?

I tried to be as objective as possible, at least half of the items listed I have no interest in.

I used that Reason Feature Request Google spreadsheet as basis, but still at my own discretion.

As well as limited to what I feel would be 'major' or 'overhaul' upgrades or additions which has been predominantly requested. Or at least, the major features of other DAWs

However, I understand it still can be seen as a biased poll.

It's all good! I tried to make a poll on Facebook because I liked the fact that people can add their own options if something is missing. But then not everybody is on Facebook...

My vote for 'VST MIDI Out' is more of a vote for VST3. But we all know RS is very aware of the desire and need for VST3 support, so we don't necessarily need votes in a poll for them to understand :)

I'm guessing "under history" is "undo history"... Don't edit it though, or else your poll will reset :(

I'll answer for them. The threshold knob. It's the only reason I still use Recycle.

The only thing helping this company to stay alive is adding the missing rates from the manual to the QNG. Everybody would be happy producing again or just listen to the chantings of QNG and no one would have to be angry anymore that RS couldn´t adjust the manual to the right rates for nearly 2 years.

Stop bullshitting their userbase like most every other company and be as unique in their marketing voice as they are in their products. They never used to be this generic. To watch their more recent marketing materials (especially the ones with the rising inflection, vocal fry American girl doing the voiceovers) you'd think they were just another also-ran music service for hipsters.

honestly i voted wrong. I had VST Midi Out and New Combinator in my votes. But actually to get them out of the hole i think we need a big update on the fundamental core and not again device specific changes as much as i would like a new Combinator. if they touch the Sequencer then do all features that are reachable to get them off the list.

I also think that a clip launcher is needed to compete with any modern sequencer. They all got it now, Logic, Studio One, of course Ableton and Bitwig and others. Not having one closes out people that are used to it.

People want tools that just work, not licensing headaches or subscription services. The problem with things like iLok and Codemeter is they ruin the user experience and fail to operate silently in the background. This winds up being a punishment to paying customers, while rewarding pirates who use protection free versions. This, in my opinion, is not a sustainable business model. The building of a DAW system in 2021 should focus on the use of tools that don't bring these kinds of headaches to the table, since at this point, the quality of hassle-free tools has become so wonderful.

What all these polls tell us is the total number of features that folks deem "necessary" when viewed as a whole is huge! BUT there is little convergence as to which of these necessary features should have priority when asking individuals. Some say video, some say high rez display, some say tracks freeze, etc.
So no matter what the Props do next, most folks will feel left out. Just like when VST was added, or MIDI out, or note muting, etc. many folks said that's great BUT not what "I" needed. But before those features were added it was all you heard about - "if they would only add VST support", and so on.
We're a diverse bunch, and the Props move at a notoriously glacial pace. Those two things combine to leave more of us disappointed than not on a regular basis…so strap in and prepare to be disappointed - best case you are pleasantly surprised, worst case your existing fears are confirmed.

I have to say it: I'm worried that scalable UI could break retrocompatibility or seriously harm low-grade pc performance.
I would like it too, but I wouldn't trade an inch if it would compromise any of the above even by a nano mils.

+1

Bouncing in Reason still leaves the original track and device that consumes CPU. If the device is a VST instrument you can turn it off (a hugely valuable feature) but you can't do that with RE's.
Even without freeze I can get probably 2 or 3 *times* more tracks in Reaper with synths like Repro, Diva, Viking VK2 before I run out of DSP, so maybe there is some performance optimisation aspect here too.

I might start taking bets, the odds are 50 to 1 that the Hi-Res update doesn't include scalability. 😂

The black hole. I hated that ending so much, until I saw GoT's last season.
