Whats that?
I'm going to go ahead and speculate that Companion is actually a kick ass producer who comes to your studio/house/mother's basement and helps turn crappy loops into hits. That sounds like a fantastic direction they are taking!
The first release will be buggy so the Companion will drink a lot, hit on your sister, never washes the dishes he leaves in the sink, and crashes on your couch. Also, bed bugs because you know, buggy.

Will there be a Reason feature to help me stop drinking wine tonight? :problem: .. no?... . didn't think so *sipping intensifies*

Companion:

Noncorporeal, cloudlike entity of a feminine nature who kept famed scientist Zefram Cochrane alive for 150 years past his normal lifespan. In 2117, the Companion discovered Cochrane drifting in space near death, and brought him to her planetoid in the Gamma Canaris region. She rejuvenated him and cared for him, effectively making him immortal, but doing so subjected him to extreme isolation. Over time the Companion grew to love Cochrane, and so to help alleviate his loneliness, she abducted the crew aboard the Enterprise shuttlecraft Galileo in 2267.

Except if they go the « less is more » way !
I don’t they’ll drop vst support, just they won’t distribute them the same way as they’ve done it so far.
The main web site is also no longer referencing 3rd party REs whereas it was once a strong advertised item (with korg, softube, u-he, … references)
Perhaps they are reviewing how 3rd party goods are being « viewed » through the RS prism.

I was not thinking of a subscription system and I was wrong.

I think the team in charge of the site forgot that we had to be kept informed of all this that during the evening stream

Out of curiosity I clicked the sign up now button to see what it would say and it immediately added me to a trial of a £19.99/month service. No info, no confirmation, nothing. Poor form.

For those of us that already own most of the extensions and players that are included, this is looking like a disaster. They want me to pay $10 a month (AFTER receiving my temporary 50% discount) for sound packs... and $20 a month after the first year? Jesus.

Just what everyone predicted. Seems disappointing for anyone who already has Reason Suite. Cool it reset my trial for Friktion, though.

I find this very disturbing, I do not want a suscription! After the first year for € 120,= we are going to pay € 240,= annually. To much for me, I will run Reason until updates of Windows make it impossible to use, and then it's over......

What are they thinking?
