Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+
As long as the subscription service is optional alongside the traditional upgrade model, then it doesn't bother me. I get the desire for companies to make their programs and content as accessible as possible. Competition is fiercer than ever these days. I do hope there are other benefits to everyone though such as improved integration of Authorizer's functionality and content management directly within Reason.
Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune.

This would explain the removal of some Rack Extensions the last few days. RS said they were removing some things for licensing issues going forward. My guess is that the removed Rack Extensions weren't approved by their developers to be a part of the upcoming subscription plan.
Are you withholding some of them strings?
I am hopeful it's gonna be good.

Good, if this is a subscription then I can definitely ignore this. I hate subscriptions. And the REs aren't at a level that would make me want to subscribe to have access to all of them. It would be a subscription for a very mediocre collection of instruments and effects most of which are superseded by freeware. Thanks, but no thanks. Looks like I'll be on V10 FOREEEEEEEEVERRRRRRRR.

A lot of people here have used their imagination to guess what the update is, and then gotten really mad about it.
I'm not mad I'm really hopeful that it's Reason + working vst midiplasticfractal wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021A lot of people here have used their imagination to guess what the update is, and then gotten really mad about it.

Aight i'm a spoil it for y'all.... The "companion" is a virtual/AI version of Ryan that pops up like that paper-clip dude from windows and just chilling and jamming along with you when you are producing.... And if you are really nice he might even play some banjo for you or sing the doorbell "ding dong" tune!

This is like if you announced you were rebranding yourself to "Billy+" because you made a new post.Billy wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021I'm not mad I'm really hopeful that it's Reason + working vst midiplasticfractal wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021A lot of people here have used their imagination to guess what the update is, and then gotten really mad about it.

I had the same 'missing file' issue in the last update, tried a few times and then left it because it was just a bug fix update and that version was fine already so didn't see the need to update.
Looks like more people are having the problem with this update too.
EDIT: Just updated and everything seems to be working with no problems so I really can't say what the issue was for me then and what the issue is now for other users.

This is just the natural process of a thread metamorphosing into a feature request thread. Life... finds a way.esselfortium wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021This is like if you announced you were rebranding yourself to "Billy+" because you made a new post.

it’s not really much of a leap, when a new version comes out and they’re teasing something new. I’d be more worried if we *didn’t* end up talking about the features we hope to see.fieldframe wrote: ↑25 Jan 2021This is just the natural process of a thread metamorphosing into a feature request thread. I'm pretty sure this is not a GUI update, as they'll probably save that for Reason 12. Definitely holding off on the upgrade until I find out what this is all about, but I'm not really that excited about a subscription service. I've already bought so many things that I haven't even gotten around to using so that'll be a nope from me. The only other thing I can think of is if Reason allows it's Rack to be controlled in a tactile way from an iPad or Android device, though given their track record they don't really seem to care that much about Android which leaves me out in the cold.
I'm running Reason 11 suite, so if the subscription method is the way forward I'm fine with what I have as of now and will wish them well but I highly doubt they're going to just shut out customers like myself.
Ryan, just show us the damn product already!!!!!
