So we got a new feature that's hidden with no documentation or anything advising what it will do......

This was just an update to prepare the software for the implementation of a bigger feature (the Reason+/companion thing), so it doesn't really matter if the option is currently greyed out and can't be deactivated since it doesn't serve any function yet. It would IMO be way more confusing if you could click it on & off while nothing happens.

Interesting stuff. The guys at Reason Studios definitely enjoy speculation. Stefan's gif is further proof. So that's the reason why they didn't tell us what it is.

I wonder what this is though....

Have they integrated the shop within the program?
Is it a one click access to their live stream?
Perhaps one of the other suggestions already presented here by my fellow Reason users?

It sounds to me like it's some kind of assistant so tutorial / help thing of some kind.

As it's called "Companion" I would assume it is similar to Studio One Remote - which allows you to control S1 commands - and create macros and assign buttons for quick access. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/studio-on ... d988444520

Never understood why you would want a remote when your sat at your desk with keyboard mouse and some kind of midi controller, would be a total waste of developers time, you could implement vst midi first so we can at least actually finally say vst2 works fully I mean it's been years......

I'm going to go ahead and speculate that Companion is actually a kick ass producer who comes to your studio/house/mother's basement and helps turn crappy loops into hits. That sounds like a fantastic direction they are taking!

I think it will be an option to load a new reason and still be able to run the old one if you want. What's going to be "new" reason? I don't know yet. Probably hi res graphics.

Is it possible that Companion could be a bridge program for the new and improved Reason Compact where Compact is finally an actual mobile daw like Cubasis and FL Studio mobile and Companion allows for communication between the two.

I am praying it's something along those lines. I'm thinking how Record first rolled out so it's a possibility.

My speculation is that Reason+ is the name of a new subscription service and with it you get all these new add-ons, like Companion (an app that connects to Reason DAW for whatever reason).

It reads "Open Companien..." I guess its a Window. Do you see a window? What do you want to disable which annoys you?

Nothing to open. I don't see a window. What annonys me is that it would be nice to get some serious info on what's being updated, since there are things that need to be updated and people are waiting for some improvements that are really important for thier work and workflow. I really don't have time for this playful update mysteries, when I need to work.
I open Cubase, there's an update. Most of the time very useful. I update and continue with my life. I really don't need this pop corn bulshit.

I'm entitled to my opinion, so there.
