How to keep slice marker in the middle of the screen?

The slice markers that Reason generate are often close but not exactly where I want them to be. To position a slice marker more precisely I need to zoom in, but then the slice marker moves away out of the screen. Is there a way to keep it locked in the middle?

This seems to work:

I put the song position pointer straight above the slice marker. Then I use the hand tool to drag the audio clip to the left/right to put the slice marker/song position pointer in the middle of the screen. Now the slice marker stays in the middle when zooming in/out.

Is this how the Reason experts would do it?

Click on slice to select, hit "Z" key to zoom/center.
