Hi! :)

Question:
Where do I put the SQ8L.dll?

I put it into Reasons VST Plugin folder but it does not work at all.
What may be the mistake I am making?

Thanks in advance!
Chris

If it is vst2 you should have a folder at up for vst files. Point Reason to look in that folder to scan for plugins on Reason's settings.

Vst3 have a custom folder that they all must go to, and it is created automatically by the plugin installer. Reason can't load vst3

I think the SQ8L is a 32 bit Windows plugin. I'm on a Mac, but I'd assume that these days you'd need at least a bridge to run it in recent DAWs...

Yes you need a bit bridge like Jbridge because its a 32 bit VST.

Problem is (well for me anyway) is that jbridge adds really nasty crackling in the sound... I know it's not my hardware as I have a beast of a PC with an i7 8700k at 4.8Ghz and 32GB of RAM... would love to use SQ8L but this makes it unusable for me.

Maybe hit him with an email he's usually very helpful. I get graphical errors sometimes with jbridge but I don't get audio glitches.

It always makes me a little sad to see SQ8L. Easily my favorite abandonware synth.
Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune.
