That sounds like an excellent plan.

Hey I did, watched the first 45 minutes before I got busy with kids only I don't have an account with your stream provider so couldn't chat. In fact I hadn't even heard of the site.
Was interested to see your virtual singers.

cool, thanks for the support but if I'd have known you were there I'd have done something useful

Well just remember you wasn't alone and you should stream like you have an audience at all times.pushedbutton wrote: ↑07 Dec 2020cool, thanks for the support but if I'd have known you were there I'd have done something useful
And in fact I think the viewer count hit at least 4.
Do the streams get stored and replayed?
Is there any reason you went with that provider?
Any reason why you didn't go with twitch?

Just trying it out, my obs was already set up to use it and I couldn't be arsed getting my twitch key.
No good reason.

Fair play, but I would say there are a few with twitch accounts already so it might be worth the extra effort and your audience will get notifications and be able to chat straight off the bat!pushedbutton wrote: ↑07 Dec 2020Yeah, there's a VOD of the last streamBilly wrote: ↑07 Dec 2020Well just remember you wasn't alone and you should stream like you have an audience at all times.

I still don't have a YouTube account and even though RS are doing streams I can't be bothered to get one I just sit back and watch.
I'm 4 years in and still have no idea what I'm doing, but it's fun
I meant to quote the original post. 4 years into using Reason*
I watched the first few minutes of this and this seems like a good series for someone new to audio recording.bxbrkrz wrote: ↑04 Dec 2020If you know absolutely nothing about audio I'd suggest to watch a couple of videos of real world all analog recording studios first. Reason wants to virtually recreate a "familiar" setting with patch cables, outboard gear, mixing console, etc. I randomly picked up that playlist. I didn't watch it myself but this is an excellent channel. Then when reading the manual, or watching Reason focused videos, you'll be familiar with the basics, terminology, and so forth.
How to Record - Lesson 1: Basics of Sound - Warren Huart: Produce Like A Pro
For the OP a good place to start is learning how to record drums patterns since drums and percussion are usually the foundation for many genres of music.

You are doomed. There is absolutely no precedent for a visual artist also becoming an electronic musician. Oh, wait.

Ok, so I'm gonna presune you know nothing at all. Sorry if this is too basic.
Reason is made up of 3 windows:- The rack (where you find all the instruments), the sequencer (where you sequence all of the information to play the song) and then there's the Main Mixer (mixing console to mix your track). I personally like to go to the Window menu and detach all of those, then (on Windows 10 anyway) all 3 windows are found minimized down the bottom of the screen as tabs and you can maximize them individually. For me it gives me a clearer and neater working environment. Less cluttered. The cluttered-ness many years ago was one thing that confused the hell out of me at the start until my tutor at college advised me to detach them. Never had them attached since lol!
In the sequencer, there are 2 types of tracks, midi tracks and audio. Midi tracks are displayed as notes in the clips and audio is displayed as a waveform. Midi information is what plays software instruments and can be edited in the midi editor (come to that later) and audio is anything recorded through an audio interface into Reason such as vocals or a guitar which will both go through an audio interface.
That's the basic starting info. As for piano, there are 3 come with Reason as stock, the NN-XT Grand Piano, Radical Piano and the ID8 has a piano which is quite good.
2 good tutorial series on You Tube which I'd recommend are 52 Reason / Record Tips with James Bernard and Reasonexperts with Hydlide. Also Ryan's Picks For Quick Mix Fix Tricks are good.

I just want to add some emphasis here. The manual is really good and well written also for non-tech people.Loque wrote: ↑04 Dec 2020Try the "Tutorials" in the tutorials window

Give you some time, relax, try and play around. Come here to ask your questions, but first try to "find" something in the forum before you ask and post.

I'm not sure my posts can ever be classified as answers. They might count as responses. Sometimes.

Watch the tutorials mentioned in the thread, We live in dystopian times now where everything is shut down but hopefully everything will slowly start to open up again and if you need to gaet away from people to learn a new software program. best drag clicking mouse
