why is it so cheap ?
Black Friday 2020 Sale
Tis the season for buying is why. Give the RE a trial if you haven't already. I trialed in the past and didn't end up buying. I'm thinking I didn't buy because I bought Parsec 2 around the same time. $9 for a preset surfer/tweaker like myself doesn't sound all that bad though.
Relax. Listen to some music.

I have your exact list of stuff I don't have, except Complex, plus Radical Keys it's missing from mine.
I really like The Reason Drums, Pianos. I Miss the PX7. With The amazing Ekss FM Synth out, I'd really want to compare the two. and PX4, why not.
Still 10 bucks for device, which is a great deal. I'm holding tight on 10.
If we could change one Synth, like Complex for PX7, or Layers for PX7. I'd be sold immediately. Just give us the chance RS!
Edit. I upgraded. Sorry guys.

Noxious is pretty cool but a bit limited. It's just the one oscillator (no unison, no fx) and although it has a host of cool operators that can fuck up the partials, you're gonna struggle to get a "full" sounding patch out of it. It does have it's uses though, like it does my favourite ever cymbal/hi hat sounds, so pristine and shiny you need to wear shadesstrangers wrote: ↑21 Nov 2020Tis the season for buying is why. I'm in the same situation. I can get this for 80US/100 dollars CDN, but Reason 12 will likely drop in the spring. I'll likely just wait it out and pay full price 170 CDN then, upgrading from R8.
(I would have jumped on this deal right away if Reason Studios didn't offer up Reason Lite 11 - which is great value, imo)

I've also wondered what could get a RRP user to upgrade to a version 12, 13... Etc. I don't see anyone paying for an update just to get high res or vst3 support or mpe support.diminished wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020Think about it, how could a R12 improve the RRP? I know countless ways how R12 could improve Reason DAW, but not RRP. (edit: other than making it highres ofc)

Maybe if a R12 upgrade is good enough, RRP people will go back to use Reason as their main DAW, making the RRP unnecessary for them. Just a thought. But considering Reason updates usually aren't that big, that probably won't happen.deeplink wrote: ↑24 Nov 2020I've also wondered what could get a RRP user to upgrade to a version 12, 13... Etc. The answer has got to be to make the RRP the long desired Combinator 2. A programmable section at the top with assignable macro controls, that can route midi around the rack as well as MPE (at some point...), built in modulation options and who knows what else. Reason Studios like making instruments, so turn the RRP into an instrument in its own right!deeplink wrote: ↑24 Nov 2020I've also wondered what could get a RRP user to upgrade to a version 12, 13... Other additions could be to add back the live sampling input from the main Reason versions of sample playing instruments (I'm still on R10 so not 100% on what the current status of RRP is) as well as the sample edit window.
I reckon the RRP could really do with a way of creating/editing rex files too without having to revert back to main Reason.

I picked up the lovely jiggery pokery electric harpsichord plus some of the free stuff mentioned around the forum. On plugin boutique I picked up the Cherry Audio DCO 106 and the XLN Audio RC20 as its half price.
Any opinions on the Mode Audio sample packs? Not a big sample pack guy but thinking of picking up the Pulse percussion pack.

Just grabbed Noxious for 9 monetary units simply because I have a ton of unfinished nonsense I saved when I had it on trial and forgot what they sounded like.
Still can't quite understand that Parsec 2 costs the same whether you buy it outright or upgrade from Parsec 1 and is free in S11 but not R11.
Just one of those odd anomalies that props (ahem Reason Studios) does I guess?
