Hi Everybody!
Who would jump on a Reason Studio's 303 Rack Extension?
Or would you prefer it as a stock device? yes I know we need features before new devices.
You can have 2 votes.
Thanks!

I suppose like the ReBirth one Yeah. RS would say and others about copyright but then Audio Realism and D16 get away with it.

Hard to beat the ABL3, which is already available to us, the best sounding emulation (better than even Roland's VST), and is very feature rich. I'd take an RS built-in 303, but I wouldn't have a reason to buy it. Even built-in, I'd most certainly still reach for the ABL3.

I wouldn't want that at all... With all the clones, emulations, abl3... It's a bit saturated. There's no point in wasting time or energy on that. Besides, am I the only one who feels that sound is a bit cliche now? ♂️
true...but hey i wouldn't mind if they made an re...just to keep it in the device library...maybe play with it sometimes...but then again, i didn't buy the abl3 either, so i think i probably wouldn't buy this either.... you're right the 303 sound is clichedPhillipOrdonez wrote: ↑19 Nov 2020I wouldn't want that at all... Have you tried Image-Lines Transistor Bass?joeyluck wrote: ↑19 Nov 2020Hard to beat the ABL3, which is already available to us, the best sounding emulation (better than even Roland's VST), and is very feature rich. I've got a TB3 for that job now.
The 303 sound IS a cliché, that's the point. It's maybe more accurate to say it's a trope.
It's just fun! I suspect it always will be. It's probably more important that RS design and include one or two really good 303-ish combinators in the stock library, sequencers and all, using stock devices.
Here's a 303 (or something 303-ish) starring in a total banger released only last year. People are still buying guitars and pianos.

If you look in the ABL3 "credits page" of the plugin, you'll see my name in the scroll. That's how much of a supporter of ABL3 that I am, as I've been part of the "team" doing beta-testing on it since... I think 2015 or so?
That said, I loved what ReBirth's 303 could do that no other 303 emulator could do: a silent slide. If a slide starts on a note without a gate, it slides from some unknown note (presumably the last note played) while ramping up in volume to the played note. It's a really cool effect that I have to keep an old computer around for if I want to recreate some of my old tracks.

It's a no from me, but only because I find the 303 to be overrated. Honestly, if I was given a fully working original version I'd probably sell it. A perfect Juno emulation on the other hand... or dare I even ask for a good Prophet 5?
"Good" is not enough. "Great" with multiple rev. like the latest real hardware offering?Enlightenspeed wrote: ↑20 Nov 2020It's a no from me, but only because I find the 303 to be overrated. Anyway thanks for creating fun toys for us, no matter what they'll be.

I’ve mentioned that to the developer, repeatedly.
Yeah. It's pretty quiet over there from what I can tell. I know he's working on things but generally there's only the occasional tweet about sales.

Think Transistor Bass takes some beating myself, sadly only native to FL Studio:-

ABL is all good with me - does the job, sounds fine and it has a piano scroll which is good because programming in the original way is frankly a pig. And a bore.
What I'd really like is a Korg MS20 emulator. I had the real thing for a little while but had to give it back to the actual owner and I was very sad about it. It's a beautiful machine.

Get a Korg MS-20M.
If that’s not possible (or affordable, as they’re $1500+ now), the Korg Collection MS-20 VST isn’t half bad. I have both yet still use the VST on occasion.
