Amazing, sounds like a fun tool to play with.

Very cool. Although, as with so many sample libraries, the choice to add reverb to the output diminishes it's utility. Hopefully they really flesh it out. This is some amazing tech.

Wow, very cool. I guess saxophones will have a comeback in Dub Step
My next thought, now I don't need Friktion
But seriously, this can become the disruptive instrument like Amps for guitars, or analog synths were back in the day.
Splice should be seriously worried if you soon can just take and loop and turn it into 10 new versions. It can for sure be disruptive to the loop industry as they seem to just release the same stuff over and over, unless you actually need new drums despite have > 20 000 on your SSD already...

Very cool, as long as the results you get are yours forever.

My thoughts exactly, as I said this is new tech and the natural conclusion is better modelling and more instruments to the point of pretty much perfect imitation of thousands of instruments from percussion to wind, string, wood and even synths so all you will need is your voice and some fingers to tap out a beat...this will be a real game changer in music creation.
Tend the flame
This is now available as a plugin! macOS only for now (windows version coming soon).
DDSP-VST
https://magenta.tensorflow.org/ddsp-vst
It seems to only include AU for macOS and not VST of any variety. There are two components: an effect and a synth.
[edit] hmmm so I tried this with GarageBand and the effect plugin didn't show and the synth plugin said that the developer has to update it, so it didn't work. Possible that I need to be on a newer version of macOS. I didn't notice any requirements mentioned on the site though.
