I haven't been brave enough but I've mostly been using it as a standalone for years anyway. I found it works better. Back when I was on Logic things would get messed up a lot when I had it inserted as an AU.
I need help opening a panel in Reason. This is what I get. Windows 10. How can I resize/fit the panel?

Ctrlr sends out MIDI data and Reason actually doesn't support the MIDI output on VSTs.
So therefore it can't work in Reason.

You choose midi out in the vst plugin, so ctrlr sends the midi.
It works.
only the layout has some problems

Is it the MKS-50 panel by Andreas Lindholm? Can you run CTRLR in standalone and open the *. panel from there?
Normaly you have at least a menubar in the CTRLR window, what version-number are you using?
I def use it in standalone mode, its awesome.
But I hear you can automate parameters when in VST mode in Reason....
Well, just tryed it out a minute ago, I never used it in this way. But I can confirm it is possible to automate encoders on a panel and send the automation out.
My Ctrlr is "Version = 5.4.52, Build date = Thu, Mar 30, 2017" and you have to get it going into Reason, or an other DAW. From there you can export a "vst - *.dll" with the panel you need.

A nice little Xmas gift for everyone.
I got the most recent version of CTRLR working in Reason 12 flawlessly and am assigning the entire VST to a combinator. (on Mac) controlling all parameters of my JX-8P Analogue synth.
The short version
Had to access terminal and bypass the permissions just to get Reason to acknowledge the .vst
-once CTRLR was opening (finally) I found a panel for the JX-8P and actually had to go into the panel settings in order to tell reason to define and listen to certain parameters i.e filter cutoff, resonance, chorus etc.
-Once it listed everything I was going to use, it just worked. I couldn't believe it either, because (apparently) there have always been conversion issues with SYSEX and MIDI CC's being communicated with the JX-8P communicating with a DAW (having to use an outside app) but the CTRLR VST saved the day!
The goal?
Bypass the ugly panel and build a beatiful Reason Combi!
WOW
If anyone wants details, please let me know and we can migrate this over and start building some sweet analogue synth combinators!
MERRY XMAS!

I have some problems with Ctrlr and the panel dedicated to Behringer Deepmind 12D.
I can't select Deepmind 12D as midi input and output device, both are already in use by Reason.
Maybe I could solve it using virtual midi drivers but every time I try to understand how they work my brain goes into energy saving mode
