Used Friktion for everything except the drums. For me this is the best way to trial a RE.
Still haven't really decided where I stand with Friktion yet. I like it because it offers a more natural/organic sound compared to normal synths. But if I buy Friktion one day it won't necessarily be for creating realistic string sounds. If it gets on sale for half price, finds its way into a nice bundle, or gets added to some other sweet (Suite) deal I'll most likely buy it.

I noticed that right away as well listening on an iPad.
Interesting lead sound - not really violin-y, but sort of violin-y...

Thanks. Yeah I'm not gonna attempt any drum programming with Friktion. I'll save that for the skilled super tweakers out there.

Thanks. I actually doubled the bass with an extra octave at a lower volume to get some extra fullness.

Yeah the lead is kinda violin-y with a touch of flute-iness imo. The sound was kind of unruly with an lfo constantly changing the harmonic position. I had to bounce several takes to audio and then put together the best takes. Same with some other sounds.stratatonic wrote: ↑06 Sep 2020I noticed that right away as well listening on an iPad.

Thanks. Interesting, never thought of it as a guitar sound. I guess we all hear things differently. I hear it more as violin/flute/something metallic. But since it's not really a true recorded instrument/sound I guess it could be interpreted in many ways.
Or are we talking about the same sound? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what sound you mean.

It's a preset. It's called "Shakuhachi". It's in the "Other instruments" category. It's almost the same, I did some minor tweaking and also added a some effects: compressors, Audiomatic, EQ to the sound.
Superb Track*
Dude this is awesome Grats for such a great track!

Thanks. Like I said I'm still not sure what I think about Friktion. But if nothing else, I think it did offer a new soundscape that my other tracks don't have.
Yeah sometimes things just doesn't work out. Like when I tried Obsession about a week ago. Being a huge Synapse fan I just assumed I would love it. Well I do think it sound really great, but for whatever reason most of its sounds just didn't match my style or sparked my creativity. And it's way too "optiony" for me, with too much choice for me to start making my own sounds with it. The Legend is still a perfect synth for me. Just enough features/limitations and sounds awesome.

Thanks. Interesting, three people have now commented specifically on the bass sound. Guess I found something there.
