I don’t get the obsession with old vs newfangled.
why choose?
all my gear is just plain fangled.

not sure what I’m doing right now, but I’m glitching the matrix hardcore.

Wow this thing is so gritty and sci-fi. I have A LOT of synths but I definitely don't have one that sounds like this. Pendulate is fantastic.

Maybe! I haven't used it a whole lot yet, but from my very brief use so far it certainly does have its own flavour - whether that sits with my palette in a useful way is something I have yet to figure out, though...
You're welcome

I think a polyphonic version is in the cards because Pendulate supports MPE. I'm betting a poly version will not be free, though.
Nice synth if you want that Buchla/Serge "west coast" thing. I found that when you really crank the "chaos" settings, you can run into aliasing. Make sure you read the manual, I didn't get that the little squares below the blocks were controls...how many square knobs have you come across before? Also making and breaking patch connections is a bit unintuitive.

Yeah, I do not like how it looks. And the animations are ugly too.Yuck. Thankfully you can turn them off. And, yeah it is TINY. Wonder if the paid version is going to look different.

Thanks for the post - easy installation & sounds good I've just added Players 'Delta' + 'Sequences' and the sounds are limitless!

That's really interesting - I'm definitely in the "it's not very appealing to look at" camp (as I am with the other NFA plug-ins... though I do actually really like the animations), but I can more or less forgive that because I found the actual usability of it to be quite straight-forward. I was up and patching in no time at all.enossified wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020Make sure you read the manual, I didn't get that the little squares below the blocks were controls...how many square knobs have you come across before? For what it's worth I ended up trialling Generate and bought it very shortly after. It absolutely tickles the explorative side of my brain, and it straddles a really good line between providing musically useful results and interesting/chaotic sounds. That's a tricky balance to maintain and I think they did a great job in striking it in Generate. I spent a good couple of hours yesterday getting pulled in various directions by it and generally had a pretty great time in doing so.
I do think Pendulate is a solid synth in its own right, but it does feel like they saved the special sauce for Generate. Plus, hey - it's always nice to use a new soft-synth that ISN'T a VA or wavetable synth!
