Nektarine as an effect in the channel not working

I've spent like the past 3 hours on this. I've Been trying to use fabfilter (pro q3, c2, etc...) products through nektarine as an effect in my audio channel/vocal chain and get zero audio. Is the panorama controler p1/nektarine not compatible to use for effects in the channel fx insert? So is the controller only meant to use for synths and the master section? Im using the P1. Thanks in advance!
