I think it means that now all my purchased REs are unlocked for use in any DAW of my choice. Excellent. Pretty much the only thing I'd miss is Kong. :)

Its update version 11 Lite version 11.2.1 to version 11.3.1.
Added rack plugin. But removed Europa, Thor, Dr. Rex, NN-19, NN-XT and many bult-in devices.

Reason Lite 11 before: https://www.reasonstudios.com/en/reason/comparison

It's hard to argue with the price though. Does anyone know what they are currently giving away with the iPad Reason Compact app? It used to be 10 Lite.

So...seeing as Kong is the only thing I'd really miss (I've got all the Kuassa amps and fx, a good sampler and basically just about every RE I could possibly want) could anyone point me in the direction of a VST (or RE) or for that matter a DAW which has something comparable to Kong. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

What‘s your focus? Drum synthesis? (Could be difficult) or Pads? For the latter of course NI Battery or Impact XT (included in Studio One).

A few weeks back, it was 10 Lite. And it had all the goodies... These days, idk.

How'd you mean pads? Like the 16 pads in Kong you mean? Yeah...like that. Sample loading and then ways of manipulating the sample within the module.
I actually just loaded up ReDrum and bashed away on that for a while :)
Studio One looks closest to the sort of DAW I could see myself using.

i still use redrum as my main drum sampler mainly because of the single outs are just there. i was never satisfied the way it worked in kong.

Yes, I meant the drum pads. :) Sample editing is more sophisticated in Battery, but after giving Impact XT a try, I deleted Battery and never looked back. For „everyday tasks“ (funny - I‘m a hobbyist who makes music every few weeks or so) Impact XT does fit my needs. And Studio One is a blast. Unfortunately, Impact XT is not included in the free Prime version of S1 for easy trying out.

And it comes with Impact XT - very like Kong but better. Layer a bunch of hits on a pad and set them to vary with velocity, or round robin, or random. It just works.

Anyone used the One Small Cue Poise Drum Module mentioned above? I can't find anything about it. KVR says it's €49 and not free. Even the Devs homepage just has a download link and that's about it.

Anybody know if I can have this installed next to my full Reason 10?
Will there be interference with installed Reason 10 folders?
Thanks in advance.

5 instruments, 8 effects, 6 MIDI effects and utilities for free is a good deal for those who don't already have Reasons.
Come August' the thing for Reasons Studio to do is to get all of those new lite users to upgrade.

If I were them I would create a Lite Plus version for $50 that included all of the things that recently took away from the old Lite version.

I'm glad I never upgraded to r11 now, as the RRP was a large part of the appeal.
The loss of most of the native devices isn't even a concern as I've already got a crazy amount of paid and free re's stockpiled.

There were a few times I almost upgraded to R11 because I wanted access to the RRP and the RRP only. But thanks to the bizznezz masterminds at Reason Studios, I don't have to give them $129 anymore! And when they don't add any significant DAW features to R12 but instead add a few more mediocre devices, I'll refrain from updating again because I'm going to be perfectly content with the RRP they just basically gave me for free! OMG they're sooooooo nice!

Well i pulled the trigger (found some Ableton chord rack thingy for $3)
Reason 11 Lite is now happily installed alongside my Reason 10 full.
As far as them losing our $129 I don't think that's a concern because they'll will be aiming to pull in a bunch of new customers which will offset any losses. And any customers that are considering abandoning the platform (not me!) will now be thrown a bit of a lifeline to keep them attached to the ecosystem and hopefully spending a bit more cash eventually.
RRP without the stock instruments and without the heap of VST's I have installed feels oddly clean and fresh.
