voted 'other': I think I really like the Making of video but I'm not sure if that actually counts as a trailer...
The old Reason trailers are very special, though - so old-school!

edit: here are the original flash trailers in full glory

absolutely, those two videos (Pulsar and ART) are awesome! I wish Props would do more of this kind. Don't change that humorous style - it made Reason/Props even more special.
Way better than bullshit err buzzword marketing in my eyes.

This is also one of my favorites:

rumor has it that Ryan Harlin followed a bet to include the Nyan cat in one of his vids (Ryan, Nyan - it rhymes, so the rumor must be true!) Can't find a reference though - it might have been in the user forums...  :s0959:

I actually have the song file for the trailer Fred did for the 2.5 release.  That thing used to be a benchmark for machines as it was a huge songfile (at the time) and brought machines to their knees.

Good times!

Thanks for this I just saw the Reason 3 video for the first time that was super cool and it puts Reason 8 to shame.

Pulsar and Alligator and The Echo videos are my favorites!

I always thought the video for Record was well done. Love the alligator video as well. In general their videos are always fun and well produced, thanks for assembling them in one place!

That rumor is true. Craig who also works at PH was talking to me one day and he put out the challenge, thinking there's no way I could reasonably get that into a video.

And he was right. There was no way to REASONABLY do it... so I just invented a secret front panel easter egg and revealed it. Because hey, why not? :)

It's interesting to see these here because all that later stuff is my work and I haven't really scrolled through it like this. Kinda cool. I don't know if I have a favorite. I loved the execution of the Pulsar infomercial because it was enlightening to edit. I started out editing like I normally would and it didn't quite feel authentic. Then I started purposefully editing badly - clipping off words too early on a sentence, zooming the shots digitally (which looks bad so you never do it), and other no-nos. Suddenly it felt like a real infomercial! So that one is a favorite.

I also really like the Making of one and one and the Rack Extension launch video with the developers.

Backstory: that's my brother I blow up in that video. When my dad saw the video he got genuinely sad to watch his son exploded off camera and to know his other son had done it. I mean, he obviously got the fake-ness of it but he said he also was like actually faced with the notion of Jesse blowing up. Ooops!

hey Ryan, thanks for your interesting behind-the-scenes comments! Much appreciated!

For my friends and me, your clever and funny videos added immensely to the cool vibe Reason has/had (it changed a bit now, but I hope for a revival). It's probably very difficult to produce informing videos that are not too cheesy or cheeky.
The Pulsar-infomercial is also a favorite of mine!

Have a nice weekend!
