Supersaw Community ReFill
I do also have quite some problems to determine what a supersaw is.
Can someone explain what a supersaw differs from a "brassy-saw" ?
like wongo mentioned in the actual refill thread ,there is a V2 on the way ?
so here´s another one, just freshly worked out
PS: it would be nice to know (even from someone) if the patches are worthy ?!? if i dont reach the "quality standards" i could "save up" my time

This is a SmartAss. Really nothing more than that !
Just real quick here because I have to go - I'm not a supersaw authority by any means, but at its very basic level, a supersaw is a bunch of SAW waves, detuned. That's why it's called a SUPER saw.
Your patch sounds like some sort of brassy instrument.

mhh... i have to admit that i have a favor for brassy instruments.
i tried to do what you describe with the last one, so if you have a bit more time, would you take a look at the patch settings and hint me to where i am going "wrong" ? ( For the result of getting a SS )

Sure - later today.
ok.... another try
that should definitely be more "Super" than the other two.

That's better, although you don't have to get too complex with modulating things. And I would personally stick with saw waves. A classic supersaw sound is pretty simple and straightforward. To make the classic supersaw sound on the JP-8080 for example, you basically just select the Super Saw OSC, and then adjust two knobs. The sound creates itself (which is why the JPs rock!).

... and one more contribution, this time for thor.
And for Signature matters, i would go for "ND" if there is no other one with that . ?

This is how I've been creating them lately, Subtractors stacked in stereo pairs the Matrix pattern provides the detune and can be controlled by
sliding up the gate, switching to note CV provides fixed detune and you can play with the Tie and step length. Enjoy

As stolen from the stream with Paul Ortiz (he used just A substractor, i put 2 in the combinator)
2 Subtractors into Quartet Grain
(we can adjust the Mod Depth on Quartet to detune some more, also Jitter can be fiddled around with)

That was a good stream, and I was also taken by the ease in which he created "that sound".
Yea, that was amazing... That old Subtractor sounded great
Reason12, Win10
My favorite Super Saws have come from Subtractor for some reason. Still really love seven Subtractors in a Combinator using the traditional pitch detune values and adding stereo panning. I really love envelope modulation of the detune, starting with more detune and quickly decaying to minimal detune, especially for pluck sounds. My first Super Saw was for a Reaktor model of the JP back when I first got Reaktor in the early 2000s, later stumbling on an early draft of Adam Szabo which became his excellent research paper (https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/1852/2 ... 68a251.pdf).
I finally passed my JP8000 on to a friend last year, having made them promise to let me come visit from time to time…
