Never tried the Android version, slipping my phone into a cardboard viewfinder just seems like it couldn't be a very good experience.

Last year I tried a VR setup at the local maker space...I was blown away. I immediately looked into buying a PC and a VR kit, then I saw the price tag and well, gave up. Until a week or so after that remembered Play Station has a VR thing and I already owned a PS4 and the PSVR happened to be on sale that week. It's pretty much a game changer. Sure the PSVR screen is not the sharpest thing and even the PS4 (non pro) is not that great to support it, but man does it give gaming a whole new dimension.

Just built a new PC a few months ago and I can't wait till I have 2 grand sitting around to get a good rig going.
