This song is about a short moment in time that I shared with my wife on our wedding day.

Lyrics:

The touch of lace against my palm bewilders me
How can it be you are here with me I just, I just don't know
You feel
Almost unreal

You’re almost like a fantasy my darling how can I believe
That now it's you and me it's
almost like a fantasy
Now when I look into your eyes,
Holding your hand and one arm around your waist,
how do I pinch, how do I pinch, pinch my skin?
I wonder have I stolen from a better man?
Hope that you know by now
Who I am
So how do I pinch? How do I
pinch, pinch my skin?

That you want
To have me far away
beyond today
defies belief
it's almost unreal

You’re almost like a fantasy oh darling how can I believe
That you have said "I do" to me it's
almost like a dream
Now when I look into your eyes,
Holding your hand and my other arm around your waist, how do I pinch, how do I pinch, pinch my skin?
I must have stolen from a better man
Hope I haven't deceived you of
Who I am
So how do I pinch? How do I pinch, pinch my skin?

You’re almost like a fantasy my darling how can I believe
That you would have this dance with me
it's almost like a dream
Now when you look into my eyes,
Holding my hand while my arm is around your waist
how do I pinch,
how do I pinch,
pinch my skin?
I wonder have I stolen you from a better man?
Hope that you know by now
Who I am
So how do I pinch?
How do I pinch
how do I pinch
how do I pinch
How do I pinch
So how do I pinch
Pinch my skin
You’re
almost like a fantasy
You're almost like a dream

Nice.

I like when people are happy to express simply & directly without trying to mess with centuries of tradition. It lets the song/story work very nicely.

Maybe next time let us hear the whole track as 25 secs is a bit limited ;-)

Thank you for your kind words! Haha, true, that is very good suggestion. I have now also added a YouTube link for the song, thank you for pointing this out!

I like it better now that there is more of it. I really like the voice - sometimes you sound a bit like the guy from Blancmange.

This is a real winner of a track, right on first listen.

I think that the only thing that is missing is strings or similar synth lines to help bridge the gaps and build more grandness. Oh now there's a fiddle doing that very job. I still might say some more subtle elements earlier might help but already I want to go again. Is there a record with more of this?

Thank you so much, it makes me glad that you like the song! I’m happy how it all came together, it was especially fun to record a live fiddle (which was a first for me).

I understand what you mean and will keep that in mind for future songs, thank you! :)

The singer is a friend of mine, this is the first song that he helps me out with. Unfortunately he doesn’t have much material recorded, only one song on Spotify etc (his artist name is “John George”).

Keep this guy close. Use him again.
The song itself is part of the greatness here, don't forget that.
