Demoing version 11 it's pretty good and an asset to my production with midi out. Good job Matthias, you should continue with Reason as like a Symbiote (Venom) type of DAW plugin that makes the host better with easy to use modular system with midi out and sample based tools. I'm officially off the rewire bandwagon the plugin is better for what I do and I'm back to using Reason because of the ease of use of the modular system that can control parameters in my host DAW. I was a non-believer until I demoed and gave 11 a chance,if you're a long time Reason user that uses another DAW and like Reason for it's strengths it's a no brainer. updating soon!

The best part about reason is the workflow stayed the same in every version...
And the combinator...

I mainly upgraded for the Rack VST as Rewire is a chore. But i am impressed with the Reason DAW updates as well. The new fx are deep and the sequencer upgrades are really good even if they are subtle. I'm satisfied.

Rack vst is why i bought Reason 11. Regular user Cubase.
But the best "world" will have all fonctionnality like stand alone mode VS plug in vst Rack (Save sonfiguration vst Rack into a project Cubase; convert Audio to Rex file from Doctor ...).

Yep. For me, no vst in RRP is prohibitive.
Porting over patches etc...Not gonna work. It's only a plan B in the event that Reason goes the way of the pear.

Not surprisingly, though.

The best parts about Reason 11 (Suite) for me has been Scenic, Beatmap, quicker transposing in the sequencer and the Master bus compressor as a RE.
Quicker transposing in the sequencer is one of those things that doesn't seem like a big thing at first, but I use it all the time.

Same when R10 dropped. Being able to "Create New Favorite List" was huge for my workflow. Doesn't look like much on paper, but this feature alone was worth upgrading for.

Yep, I really like the shift click to add an automation point at the existing level. It's a tiny little thing that makes a crap headline but it solves a problem I have encountered multiple times while editing.

Surprising to me because I was a diehard rewire user but the new midi drag n drop makes things so much easier with the Rack plugin. Rewire is still more powerful with more features I'll keep v10 for when I get a more powerful computer because running two DAWs is taxing my 5 year old quad core computer.

Side note without midi out I wouldn't even upgrade.

I got the Reason 11 Suite. In my opinion, it's best overall upgrade option so far. I haven't even begun to touch it since I'm mastering 5 songs at the moment.

But I checked it all out for a few hours the other night. Solid stuff added in. And the VST Rack ability now, goes with my Cubase flawless. That alone was worth it.

The Beat Map thingamajigger is insane TBH. I hope more patches are available for that soon. The possibilities are off the charts for a drum specialist like me.

Upgraded to v11 Rack plugin is 99% what I used rewire for in v10 with some improvements.

All stereo outs from I/O device in Rack Plugin but limitation of main out routing only 1-16. Rewire only gives you 1-2 as stereo outs the rest is mono channels.

Global shuffle is still available in plugin I/O device but not as featured as Regroover.

Totally agree - I am new to producing. I started off earlier this year. My goal was to create one complete instrumental track to check off my bucket list :) - tried Reaper and then Live and for me they some how felt like dry line of business applications (my personal opinion). I almost gave up and then discovered Reason. I don't know how to put it - but Reason is somehow inspiring and playful. Out of the box - it has the perfect number of instruments, devices and effects to keep me occupied and inspired. I was able to finish 2 complete tracks - (one ambient trance and one retrowave) that completely exceeded my personal expectations! I am working on my third one now :).

Very few daws can be a reaktor alternative out the box.
That might be the only reason you need to keep going with this

Reason Studios is the best. I only regretted having sold it once and not doing it. Now I have the update to Reason Studios 11 from Reason 10 lite version. I'm so happy.

I will admit I wasn't interested in upgrading from v10 to 11 because I thought most of the attention was on the vst side for other DAWs and what was new for the native DAW wasn't worth paying $250. But when I saw the sale a few days ago, I really did my research about every instrument that came with suite and the sequencer functions and realized I was missing out on some good stuff. This shows that it's not good to follow the crowd who automatically complain and think/read for yourself. Not saying some complaints are not valid but overall I think Reason is a great DAW for what it is. Maybe it would've been better to focus the announcement on the native goodies at the gate and throw the vst aspect as a big cherry on top. I have absolutely no regrets upgrading. In fact I'm having a lot of fun.

Not until they fix the problem of the Rack Plugin window cannot be resized in other DAWs...

It's very frustrating. See my other post here:

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7517829

Also, I wish Reason's audio editing is similar like other DAWs. It's so different and distinct till the point that I feel it's not intuitive at all for a new user. I couldn't just pick it up and use it like any other DAWs I have. I had to watch several videos and read several articles to understand it better.
