How about now?
36 hours later... no codes... I sent them an email just now... sales are working from home so don't bother phoning... I did yesterday and the guitar tec that answered gave me the wrong email address that was returned today. I used the email on the messages I got after purchase just now
Yeah, that's a bit off and not up to their usual high standard of service. I wonder if they need to get each licence from Reason Studios as they sell them or whether they have a block of licences. Maybe there is more involved in the "chain" than you think.

Either way, you have the right to be a bit annoyed!

This "manual" thing can take some time atm. COVID and stuff...But yes, faster delivery would be nice. I had to wait 2 days on an other shop for a "manual license" and it was not COVID times. I expect jrrshop to deliver. They are reliable and have reputation to lose.

The full DAW itself should be free in order to grow the product, maybe open-source. It should come with a basic compliment of instruments and effects. RE's / add-ons sold separately. If not I expect very slow user growth and code development for Reason going forward.
If I'm a developer I would file this under worst idea ever.
Yes because you would no longer have a paycheck. Instead you'd have the greatest DAW ever.

By that logic, Ardour should be the greatest DAW ever, and Blender should be the greatest 3D modelling application ever.... I think that it's fair to say that they aren't, at least by most people's standards.
So why aren't they the greatest?

Even with closed development models, the pricing also kills it. Even non-open-source software, if priced high enough, becomes inaccessible to most people. Blender is now the world's leading 3D software. Each day as people discover Blender premium 3D software is being consistently rejected and thrown out. Blender is the reason I and thousands of others are getting back into 3D animation. Another example is the Adobe software company. What a joke. Photoshop and Premiere are being rejected in favor of DaVinci Resolve and Affinity Photo. Going forward there won't be a reason to use expensive software with tiny incapable development teams.

The prices are much lower in JRRShop (If you apply the code FORUM or GROUP at checkout) - For example the suite upgrade goes to $179
https://www.jrrshop.com/propellerhead-r ... te-upgrade
Down to $177.11
Thank you!

They usually have licenses delivered in batches via a sales portal from the manufacturer (RS in this case). Once these are sold out they have to wait for another batch to be supplied, so the delay could be from anywhere along the supply line. If they are selling out, it would suggest that sales are robust which is good news for RS and of course all end users.
Eric is the main man at JRR and will usually respond fairly quickly via a support ticket or a pm over at KVR if you have an account there (he has the user name Uncle E and is very active on the site especially in the sales discussion forums). If you have had any issues, drop him a message and he will usually see you right. A real stand up guy and worthy of support , even if sometimes there can be delays.

Wasn't going to buy 11, definitely not 11 Suite as it was £229.

Good news for us Brits, the JRRshop FORUM code got me the discount. Converted to GBP it was £149.20, so almost 80 quid off.

Paid with PayPal, so no money will be taken for 14 days, clicked on the button to complete the order and the code was in the confirmation on the screen in seconds, and had been emailed to me before I could check if what I was seeing was a valid code.

Nice, thanks for the info folks.

Off to download and do some tunes, but I've got a discounted Behringer PRO-1 on the desk too...so I'm spoilt for choice.

Must be a hit. From Jrrshop
"I apologize, Reason Studios' US distributor ran out of licenses and we had to wait 2 days for them to get more. I ordered 300 extra licenses just in case they run out again."

That always appeals to my weakness. The reality is spending $199 on a DAW upgrade on credit.

Looks like Reason is going down. Maybe we wont ever see a Reason 12. Bad times. Clearly.

Looks like the deal of the century. Last summer there was a Cubase crossgrade for $170. Licenses were delayed for at least two weeks. So I paid a bit more to get it from Sweetwater since developers seem to cater to places like that.

The greatest music software of all time is GarageBand (Logic). It takes many things to earn that title not just pricing.

Caved and bought the Suite upgrade from JRR, purely as a RE bundle as I only own a couple of the devices already. Just waiting for the code now .. :D

Should we start a new May Madness thread or just continue using this one? In any case Blamsoft are an early contender with May Radness.

I was missing 9 of the racks... most but not all I wanted... $250 CAD buys reason regular price... each re I was missing then comes to $28 a piece... lol... wish I had not bought scenic and complex when I decided not to upgrade... doh !
Quick question.... can a computer have reason 10 and 11 authorized or just one or the other? I can log in if needed or use a usb dongle... use the dongle for 10 on my old computer.... Ideal situation would be the ability to authorize 10 and 11 on same computer... I am not willing to give up on rewire... downloading racks and program as I type.

Were they actually REs that you wanted cos if you take out the ones you didn’t want then...

As far as authorization is concerned I’m pretty sure the pc is authorized for all your licenses.

then that would be 35 a piece... 7 I would have likely eventually bought although (I have not tested reason bass and reason drums yet)... if those 2 suck then price rises to 50 bucks a piece for ones I would have eventually purchased(the ones I wanted are in the 100 dollar range so half price in a way... plus the new devices in 11... :puf_smile:who knows ... might even like the umpf drums although I am up to the brim full of drums
