After many years of finishing less tracks than I would like, I thought I'd do something about it.

I've set up a website called onetrackperweek.com, and I'm going to finish and upload a new track every week for a year.

Week two is up now https://onetrackperweek.com/week-2-lapwing-fan/

Everything I do is 100% Reason, and that's not going anywhere anytime soon. I've joined the debate on Reasontalk about the merits of Reason 11, but when it really comes down to it, Reason is what I know and love :-)
Forgot to mention too, I was just listening to your 2nd track I think it was called Lapwing? Anyhow, I was listening on my porch and these song birds were singing while your song was playing, it was so cool! The birds kinda matched what you were doing.. it was awesome!

Thanks WarStar!
It goes to show - I hope - nothing wrong with Reason. It's not especially geared towards a particular genre of music, but it will get you there if you work it.

And to your question, check out Jon 00 Fleming's JOOF editions. There are some spectacular mixes in the series. I really like the first one. and yes, Psy trance is super tight. Rarely groove or swing, but everything punchy. This is probably an artifact of the fast BPM - not much space for anything other than bang on the beat.

That's wonderful. I composed it on the Isle of Tiree, watching the Lapwings come and go. I love those birds very much.

Thanks for the suggestions! Makes sense about the high tempo... Good stuff man!

Another update, and this time I really am over the moon.

I'm thrilled with how my latest track came out. The special thing is that I sat with my brother and I helped him lay down a chord sequence he says he's had in his head for years. We named the track A Little Bit Longer. You can find it here: www.onetrackperweek.com
Equally thrilling is that completely unforeseen, BT got to hear it, and there's a video of his reaction. As they say on the internet, you won't believe what he says at the end. I still can't quite believe it myself!

It makes me think: I'm just like so many other aspiring producers, so even when it feels hard, stick with it A Little Bit Longer.
