Hi All!

Anyone had any joy on a windows 10 computer with Virtual Box 6.1 installing Mac OSX on it?

Thanks!

I got Mojave running in VB 6.0.something, just for fun. Spent quite some time making it work and then haven't touched it since!

I mostly followed a web guide but there were a couple of gotchas that needed some more Googling and lots of fiddling. It reminded me all over again why I don't really like Linux.

As you asked and as I'm in a good mood today, I'll spell it out for you:

I've interpreted your question as you asking how to get it running. If you were dedicated enough to actually use google you would have found links like these:
* https://www.howtogeek.com/289594/how-to ... indows-10/
*

* https://www.professionaltutorial.com/in ... x-windows/
* and a few dozen more

Instead you seem to expect random people on the internet to spoon-feed you. As expected your question is also lacking essential info (like what version of MacOS). I really don't get that kind of attitude. It's showing an utter disrespect for the time of your fellow Reason Talk members. And imho this has been just another one of those questions in a long line of such.

If you want to grow up, I suggest reading https://www.wikihow.com/Ask-a-Question- ... t-Answered.

Feel free to think of me as an old fart, but I think somebody on the internet should have given you that talk a long time ago. It's nothing personal, just a matter of style and netiquette. HF ;)

EDIT: Also, if I misinterpreted the intention of your question, just ignore both of my postings...

Well I didn't mean it sound like that. Sorry about that.

I know how to search how to install it. I was thinking of (probably) whatever is the latest Mac OS as I was thinking of demo'ing Logic but I have a Windows computer. Not sure if I need the latest or what specific OS I need for Logic.

What I was really asking is, on a windows computer, was wondering if anybody had installed it and whether they had any issues with it really? is it stable or whatever really.

You might get a little more joy asking in mobile app developer forums, as you are certain to have developers who will know how well OSX currently runs in Virtual Box (and a few will have tried Garage Band and Logic X).

I used VMWare (and maybe VirtualBox) to run OSX in 2013 but I don't know if they've been able to keep up the patches (you had to install some patches to get it to work and emulate some unique Apple CPU hardware). Also see if it works good on HyperV as it might run smoother there.

Did you miss the bit above where I said I've done it but Mojave rather than Catalina. Got Logic running in it too.
Unfortunately I could not get audio to run at any sensible latency.

I think it should be possible to get latency down when using an USB interface and passing it right through to the guest OS.

I mostly gave up trying to install an old version of MacOS in VirtualBox on a Mac (to run old versions of Adobe apps). Given the sheer volume of additional things you'll have to work around to virtualize it on non-native hardware, and then on top of all that, actually get audio latency down to a point where Logic is usable, I'd say you're not looking at a weekend project so much as an additional hobby.
