sopresatta

today i cleaned out the freezer from food scraps
and made like superstock with beef / chicken / fish bones and vegetables

bish-nabe with sakatori noodles
baked chicken wings with hotones hotsauce
braciole
xiao long bao dumplings
meatloaf muffins
pupusas
pozole
pizza (baked on a pizza steel)

here is ackee / saltfish / rice noodles
and a cuban sandwich

Damn! I thought I enjoyed cooking.
And I do, but it's looking a little measly in comparison,

I never thought of putting that into lasagne. Only in sausage pie.

I'm eating like a king. I'm locked on a farm in mountains outside of Granada where my ex and daughter live. I ran out here last flight before lock down cause I was worried about em.
So yeah, picking fruit and veg out of the garden (oranges, avocados, celery, chard, broad beans, onions, wild salad stuff, etc, ettc all organic) and cooking like a storm. Pasta n beans, Pasta and anything else, paella, chicken and rice, potaje de whatever's around, monster salads, roast ribs of beef.
My daughter (11) has started baking and she's got a real flare for it so we've got all sorts of cakes too.
Need more booze.
And I haven't had a scallop (or gone diving at all!) since Sept... But I can't really complain.

Just a toilet paper shortage and a zombie apocalypse. Nothing to worry about.

Hahaha. Mid to late 80s I was actively involved with TOPY (Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth) which you can Google . "Thee Psychick Cross" was a symbol which Genesis P. Orridge later tried to take ownership and copyright more the fool him. The number 23 is just that...you can google that too. W.S. Burroughs was the first to comment on it being a number which comes up randomly more than any other number. The Om harks back to clubbing techno acid days of the early 90s when Purple Oms were the psychedelic weapon of choice.
Older and wiser now but a lot of the thinking and methods we shared through thee network have stayed with me. Guess you never give up trying
Anyway...some woman in America is currently making a documentary about Thee Temple so that'll be interesting to see.
Any questions? :):)

Turns out ricotta is very easy to make. I was very happy to discover this cause you can’t buy it so easily where I’m at.
Now I can get on w making ziti.
My cannoli turned out like shit though. Gonna need a little more RnD on that one.

I usually stick to a Keto diet. I was possibly 3 pounds overweight and fit. Now, I gained 5 more pounds and eat crap.

Cookies and donuts especially.

hello,

i got a mystery box from a friend
dried mushrooms: 3 types
spam
whole wheat lasagna noodles
crushed tomatoes
and sardines

flipped it into a tomato pasta dish with sardines
using the spam as like bacon bits
added in a bit of vermouth and chicken stock to deglaze the pan

cooked the non cook whole wheat lasagna sheets and cut them into strips
and added to said dish like pasta noodles

turned out pretty tasty

i was thinking of a sardine / spam lasagna
but couldn't wrap my brain around sardines with cheese

just got some dried chiles
gonna try to make my own hot sauce

should be fun

cheers,

hello,

i make my own sauerkraut
my grandmother lived in potsdam, germany
across the street from sansucci park
in her own backyard was a really well built concrete pingpong table
that the germans built to play with after taking over her house during ww2
i have a winter hat from one of the soldiers
my oma would walk through the park to the hospital to help out
she would boil bloody linens to help sterilize them
the russian soldiers would take pot shots at her going to and fro
she was actually taken away to a russian concentration camp for a while
don't know how long
they got the house back after the wall came down
i got some great pictures of graffiti on the wall when i visited
played soccer futbol right next to the wall with people from 4 different countries
had lunch with tante inga
who spoke no english
but had great blue eyes and a large smile
we had sauerkraut and some german meat and then walked back home through the park

i make borscht from a belarus cookbook
it's so goodgood

i'm interested in the chrain

i found a great polish mayo that doesn't contain soy
i also got a great polish mustard
i wanted to buy up all the jars, but didn't think it was fair

starting to pickle onions (red / white)
want to do peppers, carrots, celery
but don't want to go outside
the line outside of flatbush brooklyn target is only like 20 people long today

7 11 has a no mask / no service policy now
the employee actually made a nyc fire fighter go back out to his truck to get his mask

i hope it keeps raining

i think beef / pork meatloaf is up later this week
or more canned tuna and frozen vegetables

mahalos,

j

hello @ orthodox,

i don't speak german
my oma was my stepmother
the biergartens were happy times

could you translate into english what you said please

danka shun

i do have a german friend
when we would drink as a group
he'd get so blitzkreiged that he'd only speak german
deutschland uber alis

i did drive by the jagermeister factory while in germany
berlin was very industrial (1999)
the sansucci park was wonderful

i learned how to say 'you are a pretty girl' in german
i said it to a woman priest on the train to amsterdam
she blushed and held my hand
and then when i was in greece, i met this german girl
that was fun and the line came in handy

there are many stories about jaegermeister
but we don't remember many of them
we had one friend believe a terrible funny story about himself
for about a month because he blacked out

i remember pickled red cabbage in potsdam with tante inga
and potatoes with mustard
and tatnte lizzalot and uncle franz with a glass of brandy
and oma with her red hair, cigarettes, and a cup of coffee

the other thing i want to make is beet kvass

the kombucha is doing really well

have a great day / evening,

j

german is such a powerful language

It's nothing, "Anybody knows how to make their own sauerkraut". I don't speak German too, just studied it at school for a year.

Mix equal parts Nutella and peanut butter. Smear large quantities on a banana.
Eat it.
