A scrubbing convolver like Krotos Simple Monsters?

Want to talk about music hardware or software that doesn't include Reason?

Anybody know of any options that achieve the same effect?

Or maybe an approach to build one inside Reason using a few tools?

The convolver, such as in Dehumaniser 2 and Dehumaniser Simple Monsters, scrubs through the sample based on amplitude.

Here is Simple Monsters:

All of the Krotos plugins are currently on sale. I'm thinking of picking up Simple Monsters just for this. Dehumaniser 2 has always been on my list, but I achieve most of what I want using chains of other plugins I really like. What I am missing is the convolver.

I bought Simple Monsters. I couldn't resist :)

More about how the sample playback works:

I wonder if something similar could be achieved with Reason's Grain and something like Amplitude CV Out into Grain to modulate (since Grain doesn't have audio input). It wouldn't be convolution, but could be interesting to combine it with other effects mixed with it.
