Probably about 10 years ago(?) I upgraded my budget entry level Edirol UA-25 audio interface to an upper-midrange, lower-highend (at the time) RME Fireface 800.
Probably no surprise to anyone here but the difference in quality wow'd me.
With technology improving and price points dropping over the last 10 years, would downsizing to something like an ID22, an AudioFuse or even those cheaper SSL2+ interfaces still present an obvious drop in sound quality?
Are modern day midrange interfaces on par with higher end gear of yesteryear?
