Eventide just released their Spring Reverb as a plugin. Introductory price of $29 will last until 29th february.

You can download the 30 day trial version and give it a whirl. So far, I'm really liking what I'm hearing.

What does it offer more than the Spring Reverb in RV7000?

Not a bad deal at that price range, but yea I'll stick to RV7000

The RV7000 and the Eventide sound completely different. The only thing they've got in common is the name "spring reverb".

The Eventide has more settings like number of springs, tension, low and high damping and a simple tremolo. And of course, the parameters can be automated without the sound disappearing.

PSP Nexcellence spring was in sale a while ago for really cheap but I gave it a miss. I’m still pretty happy about the Kuassa verb which has 5 different types of reverb including a spring and a shimmer.

So I did a comparison between a few spring reverbs. The candidates were RV7000, Eventide and u-he Twangstrom. If you go to the Soundcloud page, you'll see the tags telling you what you're listening to.

It loops twice:
1 Dry
2 RV7000
3 Eventide
4 Twangstrom
