Does anybody call it Live? It's not even a noun.
Yeah, many people do. ;) It's a noun if used correctly.

Besides, how would you google anything related to Live? Now we're going to have the same problem with Reason Studios.
Googling "XXXX tips in Live" works fine:

https://www.google.com/search?q=Sequenc ... e&ie=UTF-8

Though honestly, the even more correct way to search would be "Ableton Live". Anyway, at least the actual product name is in the company name "Reason Studios".

Since we are even further off topic..... ha ha ha.... I'll keep it moving that way.
Needs Discussed Again

It seems to me that calling software by the name of the software (not the company name) is the standard. Nobody seems to use the full name, they just say the product name to save time and effort, I guess.

Image-Line FruityLoops, PreSonus Studio One, Cockos Reaper, Steinberg Cubase, Apple Logic, Bandlab Cakewalk, or Avid Pro Tools. Same with plugins.... Antares Audio Technologies Auto-tune or just plane Auto-tune? I'll bet you most people between 20-50 years old know what Auto-tune is, but wouldn't know what Antares is. This isn't just in the DAW world, either. Do we refer to it as Microsoft Window or do we just say Windows? Intuit TurboTax or just TurboTax? Adobe Photoshop or just Photoshop?

So calling Ableton Live simply "Live" makes complete sense to me.
Players are to MIDI what synthesizers are to waveforms.

I'm not a fan of RE's being filed by the developer name, for the points you raise. I don't recall half of the developer's names, but I usually know the name of the device I'm looking for.

Further to that, how does 'Reason Reason' sound, used in the way we would say 'Ableton Live' ? Pretty dumb choice.

I love how this thread no longer has anything to do with the original subject!
Was about to post the same...

Still reading through though. Curious if it'll revert back to on-topic or not. No spoilers, let me find out for myself :D

"xxx live video" + "just the tip"

I know how I'll be spending the next 3 minutes.

We are discussing possible pros and cons of a stand-alone RE wrapper, the decline of the popularity of REs, use of product names, XXX search results and the 3 minutes spent afterwards, and different acronyms for "NDA." Please try to stay on topic! ;)

I've studied all the license agreements on the new website and they contain nothing regarding what used to be the Remote technology. I can only assume it's legal now since they encourage people to create tutorials about the RE SDK.

I’m not a dev, so maybe I’m reading this wrong... does this remote thing have anything to do with things like the Jaexx remote map for MCU’s/Behringer X-Touch devices? It’d be amazing to get that mess sorted out such that I could use my X-Touch to its fullest. Some aspects of that device are... Not Doing Anything. :)
