Interesting effect, have you tried using VSTs such as CamelCrusher , Soundtoys Decapitator, Izotope Trash 2 or Fabfilter Saturn ? Not really sure but they might do the job
Crackling Kick
Tried tons of FXs, but I'm not able to reach it!
I've got this effect using a plugin with some "bugs" on it That's the true story.
In fact, after some time I play with the plugin and that preset, it "resets" and sound as it should, totally removing that fancy fx (i.e. just leaving the kick in the bottom).
That's my target: emulating that effect created by "bug".
Tried to contact the plugin owners, but its strange also for them Hahah
I believe I can reproduce the fx with some plugins, and Reason could be the way With your suggestions, of course
Well damn! That's even more interesting!Nowhk wrote: ↑29 Jan 2020Tried tons of FXs, but I'm not able to reach it!

Since you have that effect saved as an Audio sample already, have you considered sampling it ? A plugin like Sublab for example (https://futureaudioworkshop.com/) let's you add a sample and play with it. I think Europa and Grain could do that too.
Sorry that's the best input I can give since you've most probably tried all the Glitch effect VSTs... But I'm going to keep an eye on this thread because I'm very curious to know how to replicate this "bug"
Is this the type of "crackling"/distortion you're looking for ?
He used a plugin VST called Dystroyed by Damaged Records (It's free: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/dystroyed-by-damaged) and he tweaked "Sample Rate" to around 700 and Bitcrush between 5 and 10
No problem always glad to help
No he's not here and doesn't use Reason. He uses FL Studio 12
Also for the record make sure you use the proper 808 for that effect. Try the one that I have attached maybe it can help
Let me know how it works out

Tried some of that plugin settings (also the one you suggested to me), your samples and mine: nothing to do, can't get those "cranck" fx.
It should be somethings other.
Maybe EF on the Samplerate? Or further automations from the DAW?
Playing just that plugin generate too "static" sound, without much variations. Probably those variations are part of the "crank" effect.
@Busta US: check PM

Once you told me it was a bug from a VST I lost interest a bit :/ I can't get it 100% the way you want it so only you can get it to sound how you want. I came up with plenty of my own versions that satisfied my ear.
Still.. sounds like a mixture of quantizer scatter/lowering bit depth/tweaking dithering + distortion.
Good luck

Thank you for your help
You could try with this old beast from last century - http://www.lysator.liu.se/~zap/stomper-old.html
