Unpopular Opinion: With the departure of Syd Barret, Pink Floyd went from one of the most creative bands in history to a fair to middling prog(ish) rock band.

I started Xmas morning listening to Lacuna Coil, first Comalies then Karmacode, which is on right now. Just had the feeling that I had to listen to it.....LOL

Huh, I see it the other way. For me, Barrett-era Floyd is run of the mill daffy English psychedelia, some good stuff but mostly pretty embarrassing

Post-Barrett there's a steady upward trajectory culminating in Dark Side of the Moon

From there, Wish You Were Here is disappointing, Animals is mostly terrible, and then with The Wall they're back to embarrassing
