Alternatives to Piano modules like the MOTIF-XS?

Want to talk about music hardware or software that doesn't include Reason?

I was looking for a midi controllable piano module, i found this tone generator with
pc connection-editor, really nice but also huge.
Does anyone knows of a sibling of sort??

I have the Motif Rack XS and it is large. I wish it were 2U instead. I wish it could fit in a shallow case. I have it in a full-size SKB case on my desk with monitor on top.

You’ll find synths modules but in this day and age no one’s really making keyboard modules like the Motif XS as laptops and software have pretty much taken over that market. Also all similar modules are the same rack mount size. Closest thing to what you’re asking is probably this https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... und-module

The Gemini soundwise ok and is on spot for the essentials... midi ports and audio jacks 1/4''. But it's ugly. too much for my taste.

I don't want to shift the thread to mini-pc territory, but thay are actually smaller than the Gemini.
If only it could be possible to squeeze a midi i/0 inside one of these things, and quality audio jacks...
it would be game over...

Yep that was the solution in my head. A lot of Mainstage users are using Mac Minis for this purpose. I’m sure you could build a decent mini pc of course the down side is still the external box for audio. Personally I just went ahead and bought a Yamaha MODX as I was tired of gigging with a laptop and programming it is fairly straightforward.
