Sounds reasonable. But I’m willing to accept a few extra bugs for new new stuff.

Oh yeah; that's great news yes but apart from that it's just bug fixes.

Sounds good (a superdark or jet black theme) and if they added 'Themes Affect the Mixer / Menu's' option and no restart required to apply. Fantastic.

With only 1 crossfade curve type.

I didn't realize or even think about that. I guess I never use crossfades other than a basic way anyways. Seems odd though that they'd add curves and not have different types.

They always implement a feature the most basic way possible. Still waiting for the browsers to be sync'able on the fly and a redresh folder button on folders (and anything new added shows up in a different colour) and the browsers were introduced in Reason 8reggie1979 wrote: ↑22 Nov 2019I didn't realize or even think about that. 2016 if I'm not mistaken. Other people have also noted how basic the searching is too (as it could search as you type) and you can't tag things (searches by name only) and that there still isn't a waveform display for audio clips with brackets to isolate an area of the wav.
Going back to the crossfades, Studio One has 7 fade curves and can be moved vertically as well as horizontally so you can essentially move the curve point in a 360 motion.

Well, I'm happy with what I've had. With the exception of Live I've mostly farted around with all these hosts. Learning a new DAW is NOT making music, even with all the fancy shansy stuff. I can compose a song (er, I didn't say it was any good ) in Reason quickly and efficiently. I can do bass, guitar, use vsts, loop sections, blocks and all the drums and synth a person could want.
And like I said in the other thread, coupled with the nektar and a babyface pro I'm good. Took thousands of dollars and hours (and time, it's taken a while for Reason to really get there) to figure that out. It's just me.

You are willing to go back to fix some things in older devices like KONG for bugfixes - so are you ever going to update the native devices like the NNXT, KONG, SCREAM, etc etc, to bring them up to the standards of modern software? I would be happy to see them redone as RE devices even if that means losing backwards compatibility. It's nearly 2020 - time to stop living in the early 2000's when the competition didn't have good devices and Thor was the most powerful synth. Nowadays literally everyone has a really good wavetable synth, powerful sampler and realistic virtual analog synth, so Reasons devices are comparatively under-powered. I'd love it if you guys got back to being cutting edge.

Kong is pretty old and complex and not an RE, so that was also tinkered with. This was a tiny bug as a side-effect of everything in general being faster and better.

That's not how I interpreted what you were saying. What I mean is I don't want bugs introduced for the sake of new features. New features? Bring 'em.
Really disappointed with this update though. I never imagined so many people would want the Reason Rack for other DAW's vs. Updating the DAW itself.
This is basically how I see it
Reason is never going to be everything to everyone. It has its idiosyncrasies, and like everybody else I have a wish list for features/improvements
But being able to use the rack in another DAW is kind of a genius move. You wish Reason was more like Logic or Studio One? Boom, there you go, best of both worlds. Now shut the fuck up, put your toys back in the pram and make some music
You ran Mac Os in 64 bit but doesn't mean Logic 9 runs in 64 bit. You need at least Logic Pro X to see the rack plugin, chief!

it's a .1 update guys. . . literally a bug fix update by every standard. This is not the thread for complaints and selfishness ESPECIALLY since they went and added AU support.

Yeah, you are right this isn't the place and I feel like a bit of a dick using it to poke Mattias about the lack of development in Reason core.
Glad AU support was added; that opens it up to a swathe of Logic users.

Yeah, it's selfish to want features added to the sequencer, I forgot you are supposed to bow down to that crowd.

I dl'ed the update and have been playing with the Rack inside Logic.
The good news is it works (I haven't used it long enough yet to see if it's buggy).
The bad news is the way it works with Logic's Smart Controls and my Nektar Panorama P6. It's not much different than NI's Komplete Kontrol in that regard. Logic sees a huge field of 2565 automatable parameters in alphabetical order (only really complex Combinators will have anywhere near that many, of course). Both Smart Controls and Nektar assign knobs in the same order Logic sees params so you'll want to manually remap and rename them for 99.99% of patches. Neither Logic or Nektar can automatically locate the macro controls of Combinators to make them appear first, either Nektar hasn't yet committed to supporting recognizing devices inside the Reason Rack.
For now, I'd say it's a work in progress.
