I was hoping to get Suite this week since the extra devices are the only significant value added to 11, for me. but since there’s no sale for the upgrades, I’ll be saving the extra $120 for Christmas.

I'll take my 10.4 and battle all ye who are on 11 cuz I wanna see what you can do with your new chorus (lol) and your new phaser/flanger (lol) and the new eq you've been having (lol), and the new comps that have also been there (lol), and your new crossfades(lol), and the $129 you paid for all this "new" stuff (lol).

For a guitarist or bassist (or any non-synth based instruments) the x fades are really nice. One thing I've noticed about my recordings from the past is there are generally clicks and pops where the loop repeats (you know, a bass line and the ctrl D kinda thing) and with x fades, you can select a whole track, hit "x" and then zoom in and do an x fade for any and all clips selected.

It's handy for me, but I'm going the old and slow route of just fixing that part......for now.

A discounted black Friday upgrade may have changed my mind

haha good one :puf_bigsmile:

When they killed Rewire they basically killed Reason for me. I might update to get the VST version some day (if it comes with HDPI support) and MIDI OUT. Even so, I think i'm pretty much done using Reason instruments & RE's because of that :(
I feel like it will just be a waste of time, unfortunately.

Hey who knows, they retired the VST version of Europa.. maybe they'll retire Reason VST in R12 and bring back Rewire. <_<

Here's to hardware & Ableton..

Unfortunately I feel the same way, this "let's drop ReWire" approach was pretty much the trigger for me to jump onto the Komplete bandwagon. The fun part of that is when I did so I had Live in mind (which forms the heart of my studio), however.. what I hadn't counted on is that Komplete even expands on my (stand alone) Reason 10 setup! I totally forgot ('ignored') the fact that Reason can now use VST's as well

Setting up a Reaktor rack (using 'Reaktor blocks') within Reason is one thing. Using the Reason rack to continue patching and expanding on that setup, even using other Komplete devices (here's looking at Guitar Rig 5 Pro for example, an audio effects rack) really takes the biscuit for me. That opens up so much new potential, it's seriously overwhelming at times.

Which is why, in some twisted way, I suppose I'm also a little thankful for these weird choices on the part of the Props

Well, this is an important detail for me: when I say that I'm sticking to 10.4 I'm not insinuating that I'm giving up on Reason entirely. I've invested quite a bit in Reason already (also by grabbing some RE bundles) and I'm honestly still a very happy Reason user. It's just that I don't think that much about the "latest & greatest", which isn't exactly new for me (I upgraded from Reason 6 to Reason 10 for example...).

But Reason itself? Nothing comes close to that awesome workflow if you ask me....
