That said, as a young whippersnapper, I quite happily watched the Dukes of Hazzard (Mainly for Daisy) without ever realising the significance of the flag or Robert E. Lee.
Also, in their defence, there have been times in the past where both the Confederate Battle Flag and the Rising Sun Flag have been used as general symbols of rebellion. The swastika ... not so much.
Interestingly (who am I kidding?), General Lee toys bearing the flag can still be bought on Amazon.
Also, Lego did a kit, but I believe the recent edition is sans flag.
Daisy's a little chunkier than I recall, but I'm really in no position to cast the first stone.

But as a religious symbol/trademark, nazis were a little late to the tablePeriwinkle wrote: ↑19 Nov 2019Also, in their defence, there have been times in the past where both the Confederate Battle Flag and the Rising Sun Flag have been used as general symbols of rebellion. Who’s using the royal plural now baby? 🧂
Which is one more reason to hate nazis, they screwed up a symbol that actually had the opposite meaning to what we associate with it today...motuscott wrote: ↑20 Nov 2019But as a religious symbol/trademark, nazis were a little late to the tablePeriwinkle wrote: ↑19 Nov 2019Also, in their defence, there have been times in the past where both the Confederate Battle Flag and the Rising Sun Flag have been used as general symbols of rebellion. That cover has still a few miles to walk until getting on par with the current level of offensiveness of the most offensive flag:
