Issues updating/downloading REs
I'm curious if anybody else is having this problem? I keep getting this error message when I try to update my REs. It's been happening for days now. My Internet connection is fine, and I have plenty of disk space. I'm wondering if it's an issue with the new Reason Studios servers.
When I upgraded to Suite, it took me days to download the Reason Electric Bass RE because the download would constantly hang and never resume, or just fail. And of course you can't restart downloads from the Authorizer without starting over from the beginning. It's absurd. A few days ago I tried to demo another RE and it was the same thing, with download hanging/failing. And the demo was only a few MB. Definitely something going on with their servers.
This has been going on for many days now (dare I say weeks?). No luck updating my RE licenses, therefore I'm not able to use products I own. That really pisses me off. I haven't been able to use my dongle. For some reason, it isn't working. I emailed support and they gave me some advice that didn't work. I let them know it didn't work and I haven't heard anything from them for weeks on that issue. I guess they are considering the ticket closed.
I can't sync all thru the RS website products page. And I can't update via Reason startup options. I am getting this error notice. Obviously, it isn't my Internet/network. I'm able to access the rest of the web without issue.

Yeah, uninstalling reinstalling Authorizer/code meter was one of Prop CS's suggestions for fixing my dongle issue. But I had already done that and it still isnt working. And I can't update licenses, either. This isn't good. And it makes me wonder what might happen in the future if Reason Studios closes down someday. We might just lose everything.
I know. I've been thinking about that for a long time too. I wrote to them a while back and asked about just backing up my RE folder seeing as I already had all the licenses on my Ignition Key. Apparently you need to log in to authorize your licenses before they'll work. I am quite relaxed here. I expect they will make it free or provide some kind of local license in that case.challism wrote: ↑09 Oct 2019Yeah, uninstalling reinstalling Authorizer/code meter was one of Prop CS's suggestions for fixing my dongle issue. Hopefully its not like Adobe, where you are screwed if the USA does not like Sweden anymore.
Reason12, Win10
I guess I can say that I WAS a happy Reason user until v11 came out and Props changed name and server (I'm guessing this is an issue with the new website/server). Now I can't use it anymore.... damn. I can only open Reason in demo mode.
I just checked the dates and this started on Sept 13th for me. So that's almost a month now. I just reinstalled code meter and authorizer and it's still not working. And this isn't just one computer. I have 3 computers and they are all having the same issue, regardless of the time of day.

I'm using Reason 10, Windows 7

Try doing a traceroute to 31.24.67.88, which is where Authorizer gets his licence from. At least it'll tell you where exactly the problem is. In case you don't know how to proceed, here's how:
- Click on the windows menu
- Type "cmd" and select the "command prompt" application
- A black widow appears. Wait... I mean window. Black window.
- Type "tracert 31.24.67.88" and Enter.
It takes a few seconds and will show you the itinerary taken by the packets to reach their destination. It looks like this:
4 7 ms 6 ms 6 ms corbeil-6k-1-v800.intf.routers.proxad.net [212.27.51.105]

I'm having a similar issue, but a little different. I can't get the online authorization to work with Reason 11 Suite. It continues to tell me that I don't have a valid authorization. It seems to think I'm still on Reason 10. It tells me, "Authorization missing. The user account you specified is not authorized to run Reason 11 (build 10, 520)." Super weird. It works with Reason 10 though. I ended up doing an offline authorization, which worked fine, but I can't do any RE trials or anything which is annoying. I contacted support over a week ago but haven't heard back yet. :\

Stab in the dark: do you have R11 Suite in the "Applications" tab of your account? It could be that you bought it with a different email, perhaps?MonsterRadioMan wrote: ↑09 Oct 2019I'm having a similar issue, but a little different. Hmm... looks like something may be up from where I'm at, but the weird part is Authorizer still seems to work OK:WongoTheSane wrote: ↑09 Oct 2019Try doing a traceroute to 88.67.24.31, which is where Authorizer gets his licence from.

ha ha, black widow! You almost lost me there. I dont want any of those to appear.
Thanks for the detailed help, there, Wongo. This is what I got. Looks like it's timing out. Whatever that means.

Same Problem here ("Authorization is Missing"), 7 days ago I mailed to the support but no answer till today . I have the R11 Suite and bought it online. I think that could be a bigger PRoblem because also a friend of my has the same problem with Online Authorization with the R11 Suite.challism wrote: ↑09 Oct 2019This has been going on for many days now (dare I say weeks?). Maybe we can find a workaround?
All I could do is go to the License and Registration input Site from Reason Studios, but you would need a boxed Version from R11 with both a Registration Code and a License Number but with the Upgrade from the Online Shop you only get a License Number no Registration Number.

Well, good news: your connection works, it's going through both Stockholm servers and it arrives at the hosting site. Bad news: once there, it isn't handled (or is rejected).
It means that there's nothing you can do on your end, you have to contact Support. You can send them the traceroute, to avoid having to go over the first obvious steps like "is your computer plugged in"... At least you've eliminated that possibility and they can start checking on their end. Sorry I can't help more than that
Still no answer from Support why I cannot Online Login with the R11 Suite on my laptop... anyone else having other solutions to this? At the time I am working around the Clock on a few Tracks because deadlines and so on and it would be really great if I could also work on my Laptop... thats really odd...

Okay, I solved my own issue, and so I'm not sure if it'll help with anyone else. For whatever reason I had the non-suite version installed. I'm not sure why it was working with Codemeter but not the online authorization, but whatever, it works now. I just had to reinstall and everything works fine now.
