Connect Old Computer Subwoofer to Audio Interface?

I have a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 audio interface 2 monitor Speakers and an old Logitech speaker system I had for years. I put it away 2 years ago when I got the monitor speakers. But now I would like to use the subwoofer from the Logitech set. I tried connecting it to the headphone jack using an adapter but got no sound from it. This adapter feels a bit loose so not sure if it's the problem because when i tried adjusting it giving it a wiggle, the interface just shut off. (it's still working after i removed the adapter.) Should I just get a new subwoofer or is there still hope to make this one work somehow? Or what is the safest most common way to get a subwoofer connected to an audio interface such as this one?

First, I don't know if any of this will help you. I don't know what monitors (freq. range) and subwoofer model you have.
Your interface is Left and Right outs only. The headphone jack is the combined stereo out of the same L/R output signal. You need to find a way to split the L/R signal of the L/R outs to a low pass/high pass combo. I did a quick search and it looks like the FBQ1502HD from Behringer has a sub output with a low pass filter. It could be what you need with your setup?

It depends a lot on the electronics in the Logitech. Quite often the electronics in those "sub plus sat" systems are integrated so that you can't just use part of the system.

For example, I have another brand of sub/sat system (currently in my garage connected to a Chromecast!) The sub acts as the power supply and crossover for everything but the controls (volume, power) are on one of the satellite speakers so it would not work without all the components.

The other problem is one of sound. Those subs were not great so by using it alongside your monitor you will not get a very balanced sound. Of course, that might be what you are after!

I'm just gonna get a new sub I can afford when I can. The Logitech sub is very old, like I think my brother-n-law bought it back in 2003 something like that. It's really meant to plug into an audio jack on the motherboard of a PC. The satellite speakers share wires that go into one jack to be plugged into the sub and then another wire comes out the sub and splits to an audio jack and a power/volume controller. Probably not a good choice to go with my Monitors. They are M-Audio Studio Phile BX5 monitors. (also old but works fine). https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-aud ... itors-pair

I'm gonna do more research to see my best options. I don't need anything crazy as I'm only working in my home studio which is a 10'x12' room. I'm reading some saying subs are not necessary, especially in a room like mine but when I had the Logitech going, it sounded great with the sub. I'm also getting into cinematic music making so I think a sub would be of some use.
