As the mayor of pluck town. A recent town hall meeting has conjured up the need to see a livestream. To explain the new devices, scenic hybrid, the rack vst (in depth-ish)
And the reasoning behind the name change
The people of pluck town are watching

I'd kind of like to see that because of how weird that would be.
How do you focus on showcasing a product whose biggest selling point in marketing is being loaded as a module inside someone else's product.
That's basically free advertising for the host program that gets used to present.

Wait. How was killing the marketing hype a good idea? Who came up with that.Loque wrote: ↑11 Sep 2019Exactly.Raveshaper wrote: ↑11 Sep 2019I'd kind of like to see that because of how weird that would be.

So let's plan some then shall we? I love watching the release of a new version and all the new stuff being demo'd by the team.
I would think that it is ok this time to see videos about the stuff, as the short clips they put out now but a simple walkthrough of "how to". Livestream is nice but as this release seems to have been a bit deadliny to finish and get out, I suppose there might be some interesting things down the line with point updates etc. So I rather see them doing a livestream later on and also showing some other rack extensions just like a promotion of what is relatively new in the shop. I can imagine that the divided opinions could cloud a livestream if they show off Scenic, and there will be a debate on that we should have got that in standard while the Suite gang would say "just buy the suite", while the standard guys would shout "I already own most stuff there!" etc. So better to do a stream when there is somehow a better atmosphere and there comes something new for all users.

For anyone who has already purchased every device that comes with the Suite edition, the Scenic Hybrid Instrument effectively has a price tag equal to the Suite edition upgrade.
In that scenario, I would be interested to see how a live stream would hype this for $250 USD:
...against this for $150 USD:
I want a live stream to happen simply because I would find that conversation... very entertaining.

what percentage of Reason users do you suspect owns *all* of those devices?Raveshaper wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019For anyone who has already purchased every device that comes with the Suite edition, the Scenic Hybrid Instrument effectively has a price tag equal to the Suite edition upgrade.

I’d eat my chair if that percentage is higher than 5%.
it sounds as if you’re insinuating the Suite upgrade isn’t a good value for those people, and I don’t think anyone would disagree. if you already have everything but that one device, why would you bother with the Suite, when you can just buy the single device by itself?
but if you’re missing a few of the devices (ones you actually want), it’s a great deal, even if you’re not that interested in the rest of the R11 update.

Your "scenario" doesn't make sense, though. If someone already owns all of the RE's in the Suite edition, there would be no reason to buy it. If you wanted Scenic (which I'm willing to wager will sell for $99 USD, but no greater than $129 USD), then you'd just buy it. Hive is a fantastic plugin, BTW (especially now that Urs has finally fixed that god awful GUI/UX).Raveshaper wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019For anyone who has already purchased every device that comes with the Suite edition, the Scenic Hybrid Instrument effectively has a price tag equal to the Suite edition upgrade.

But all things considered, if you didn't own any of the RE's in Suite, what is the better bargain for $250 USD as a current Reason owner? All of those RE's (including Scenic)? Or "just" Hive?

You're forgetting that the price also includes the upgrade to R11... so your logic is a little fuzzy so it's more like $121 for Scenic in your scenario.Raveshaper wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019For anyone who has already purchased every device that comes with the Suite edition, the Scenic Hybrid Instrument effectively has a price tag equal to the Suite edition upgrade.

Suite costs $120. The remaining $129 is the cost of upgrading to v11.EnochLight wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019But all things considered, if you didn't own any of the RE's in Suite, what is the better bargain for $250 USD as a current Reason owner? All of those RE's (including Scenic)? Or "just" Hive?
BTW, I wonder if Scenic will have some API features that will require update to v11, like all the new players needed v10 to fuction.

I’m suggesting all of the included RE’s in Suite, along with Scenic, and of course the upgrade to Reason 11, is a far far far better deal than Hive.antic604 wrote: ↑13 Sep 2019Suite costs $120. I’m willing to wager with great confidence that it allows you to edit the various features for the apparent 2 sample slots and effects?

Scenic is not part of the suite, or is it?EnochLight wrote: ↑14 Sep 2019I’m suggesting all of the included RE’s in Suite, along with Scenic, and of course the upgrade to Reason 11, is a far far far better deal than Hive.

Yes, Scenic is part of the Suite. Optionally, it will also be sold separately for $99 USD.
