Today we release Sequences, our latest Player Rack Extension!

https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... sequences/

Sequences is a polyphonic step sequencer in the Rack. With Sequences you can play your favourite instruments directly from the rack. Featuring 32 steps, 8 patterns and tons of tweakability, Sequences offers a completely new way of making music in Reason.

We hope you like it! :D

Edit:

And Sequences 1.1 is out!

  • Patch browser!
  • Per-step length lane with mute and tie buttons
  • Tied notes "auto-stretch" to the next actual note-on, even if that happens to be the note itself!
  • 2 CV lanes with configurable polarity
  • Velocity CV out
  • Lane values are displayed while drawing with Shift or Cmd/Ctrl held
  • Various enhancements and bug fixes
Thank you so much!
Have a great and profitable day :)

Amazing Player, amazing update. Nothing else to say! Very well done. Probably in my top 5 favourite devices, and I know it's gonna used a BUNCH going forward.

Hats all the way off!

While I'm on holidays and can't check it - does the update add a root/starting note, so that we could transpose from something else than C3? This is really a must.

I don't even know what you mean... You can enter whatever note you like by recording or drawing, then transpose up or down the desired amount of semitones or octaves. What do you mean?

Maybe we should add a thread called "The Sequences Player Update Challenge"?
Isn't it amazing when customer feedback generates results this fast - nicely done I have to say.

You could just select all of the notes (or as many as you like) and drag them up or down.

The promotional video for this is quite ciematic and dramatic. Not nearly as dramatic and boastfull as the guy who does the blamsoft synth videos...where it goes along the lines of ...'I have a massive cock' ...brag brag..... boast boast etc etc

How feasible is per note probability? Like we already have the option to select certain notes and there’s the little hamburger menu at the bottom right. Maybe add a new menu item for probability in increments of 10% or something? I don’t think it could be done in lanes so that’s the best thing I can think of. Notes could be drawn in a different colour to denote this.

I’d never gotten that impression from any Blamsoft video.

Not in this update, but probably something we'd like to add soon!

What makes you prefer per-note probability over per-step probability?

I mean a root note for the sequence you've entered/recorded. Say you have a pad chord somewhere in E Minor, which is triggered by single E-3 note in Reason's midi clip going through Scales & Chords and to a synth, which then changes to say F and G. If on another track you have a E Major bassline programmed in Sequences and you'd like to use pad's MIDI clip to transpose it (to go E, F, G), it will immediately play 5 semitones to high, because it assumes the root note is C, not an E. For example PolyStep has a root/starting note setting just for things like that :)

As Robotic Bean said, this is going to be added in further updates :)

I was gonna try and justify it but the more I think about it, the more I realise per step and in the lane just makes waaaay more sense :D

Awesome. The Player that Propellerhead should have made themselves!
+1

This is amazing RE. I love it and while latest RE from PH (polystep) is amazing as well i prefer Sequences by far. Workflow is great, GUI is well thought and layed out.

Sequencer is really inspiring tool (for me).

All i wanted is Lenght lane - and it's here now. And random seed.

I hope Robotic Bean will add some sort of Random seed for notes and values (with variable seed percent) in update. But even if they don't this is amazing RE and update is amazing.

Thank you. Lovely weekend for me.

Got around to trying it for the first time this morning since i bought it a few weeks ago . Its an incredible sequencer and relly lends itself to feeding other player devices as well. Thanks for the free update.

RB it would be nice to have a dedicated randomness Player with many options I can't think of :puf_bigsmile:

Right now the Matrix+Sequences combo creates surprisingly cool basic ideas.

Very responsive developer. Glad I already bought it. I really like the GUI of the Robotic players, especially this one.
