My problem with shows like that are that they are based on the premise that the "protagonist" is a bad guy. I can't get on with it. Same as "breaking bad" or "the wire" where bad people are somehow the "good guys"..........nope, can't do it, wouldn't be prudent, not at "this juncture" ...............

When Tony Soprano killed his own nephew after the SUV accident, he looked like an evil person, and it is easier to disconnect. Then when Soprano's therapist realizes she was playing a game with a sociopath, instead of actually treating him, there is a big disconnection. I personally got tired of the bullshit therapy sessions long before that revelation and it almost made me stop watching the show. Thank goodness for dark humor though and I think it helps balance things out.reggie1979 wrote: ↑21 Jun 2019My problem with shows like that are that they are based on the premise that the "protagonist" is a bad guy. The wire? I don't think in the wire bad guys are supposed to be good guys at all. The other two maybe have some more of that, but anyways I think there are rarely absolute values when talking about bad or good guys, most people aren't absolutely good or bad and there are reasons for each type of behavior, as far as we aren't talking about psychopaths that are just born mental ill. But I get your point, making bad behavior look good shouldn't be an option.reggie1979 wrote: ↑21 Jun 2019My problem with shows like that are that they are based on the premise that the "protagonist" is a bad guy. Anyways, in my opinion "the wire" doesn't fit that description, it is actually a very good series and it criticizes bad behavior at different scales

This one is for people who don't like dark protagonists. Just kidding. If you're not familiar with this channel, let me just tell you this is something special here, and it caught me off guard.

There is something I've clearly noticed with Bob. His whole life is not about the Aliens from outer space, but exclusively about 'their' technology, and how to use it. He cares very little about the "are we alone in the cosmos?" answer. He cares, but it is not a priority for him, not from the viewpoint of engineers like him (which would make sense).
Joe is more about transcending our paradigms of realities, more about the (potential) connection between all of us, here on Earth and maybe across the universe.
After watching this video we are not ready for that tech. Far from it.
I guess I am rooting for the M.I.B. team?
Time for all of us to go back to .sleep.

"Angel" reunion stuff. What a great show that was, too bad it's not on "prime" right now.

I’ve been meaning to check out this show and haven’t yet, I really need to.
Right now I’m about six to seven episodes into The Handmaid’s Tale. Part of me wants to continue and the other part of me does not. Anybody further along then I am and still like it?

Something about Bob Lazar on Netflix. Other than the narrator and the sound effects it's really quite interesting. Don't buy into "Ancient Aliens" or any of that nonsense, but Bob Lazar might be the most interesting UFO link we have.

"Behind the moon landings" and it's ..... well, um. Hmm. Not a conspiracy theory guy. That guy gets his butt kicked every episode though
Also tried "The first purge" and it's shit. W/O breaking the rules let's just say it's pretty one sided.

Did I mention I finished "Unidentified: Inside America's UFO Investigation"
It started out kinda meh (which I mentioned) but eventually got pretty interesting. Much better than the usual tripe.

"The Rook" part 2. Meh. It's an interesting concept but they already seem like they are running out of ideas.

A bunch of "STV" and it's amazing how much better TV used to be.
