ianist Chad Lawson is reinventing the acoustic piano for the electronic age. He came up through classical and jazz and garnered some renown with his album, The Chopin Variations, turning the Polish composer into something acoustically ambient. But now he’s creating original ambient music, treating his piano with electronic processing to give him a more atmospheric sound. You can hear it on his serene new album, Re:Piano. We talk to Chad Lawson about reinventing the piano in the Echoes Podcast. You can also catch Chad Lawson’s live Echoes performance streaming now.

"I am mother" was worth a sitting but nothing special. A little predictable and was more sci-fi "goo" than substance. Still, if you are bored it's an OK option.reggie1979 wrote: ↑07 Jun 2019Ok, not 2 minutes into this and I'm offended. NEXT!

Watched I am Mother over the weekend. Pretty good movie. The scenes near the latter part are a very good translation of Phillip K Dick's description of the landscape in the story Second Variety. Too lazy to look see if the makers are even aware of this.
Second Variety is such a brilliant story. Kudos for knowing it!

Been having family movie nights on Saturdays the past few weeks. Been watching the marvel stuff to get the wife and boys up to speed. We just got up to Age Of Ultron. Next week it's Antman.

ST Discovery. I made the mistake of signing up for the cheaper one (even though I won't continue it) and it's A TON of commercials. Really annoying.

The stargate stuff is mostly great, but I recently tried "Universe" again and was disappointed in how it tried to be all BSG.scratchnsnifff wrote: ↑15 Jun 2019Top shows= fringe

SPOILER ALERT:
Man, "Discovery" is driving me nuts. I mean, it's not as bad as many have said so far but it's really hard to swallow some of the stuff.
-The holograms/deck. FFS, they didn't have this in the original series and it was NEW with TNG.
-The one Tibble. Please!
-Mudd is too bad of a guy, would have been more fun for him to be an antagonist that has a likable side. Stella was WAY too cool towards him so far, that kinda crap drives me nuts.
-The food dispensers talk? Just stop it.......
-Parallel Universe already?
-Jumping. Funny, not even TNG had that. And the stupid spinning when it does that. Lame.
-Love the spinning main deck, no wait, I don't.
-The chain of command is totally flawed. Everyone seems to be out of order.
-Why are enemy ships always HUGE?
-Too much Klingon talk with subtitles.
I've never been so critical of ST before. It's really kinda sad. Entertaining, but sad. Oh well, free trial, worth that.

Almost done with "Discovery" and it's just not that good. I wish I knew what the date for "Picard" is going to be released because there is nothing to keep this channel for otherwise.
I'm watching terrace house lately, some musicians in the house in the season I'm watching now...

Just finished watching The Sopranos a second time after some years. I don't watch very many shows and I just happened to notice it on Amazon Prime. Not much to say but what a series.
The time has come for you to take care and comb your hair.
