Always liked the look of this but having both Reason and Sonar over the years I never really had a need for it.
I downloaded the free version, Komplete Start a couple of weeks ago just to check it out and was fairly impressed. Now of course I get an email offering me Komplete 12 Select at half price which is quite tempting.
So my question is to those who use any form of Komplete, should I jump on board knowing that down the tracks I'll probably want to upgrade to the full version or is it overkill given I already have 2 DAWS with more stuff in them than I ever really use?
And yes I know only I can truly make that decision but I'd just like to hear others opinions on it.

I think it depends on what you have? For me, upgrading makes sense cause I have one of their hardware devices, so I'm looking to upgrade to the standard version. Komplete select is fine, has great instruments and effects and the expansions are cool, filled with sounds and stuff... If you don't have a lot of rack extensions or plugins, then I would go for it...

There is no duplication, Komplete is mostly instruments. If you mean duplication with the instruments provided with the DAW, I would argue the duplication is minimal: Komplete is geared towards emulation of real life instruments (orchestra, guitars, drums, exotic instruments...), not synths so much (except for Massive, which is a great synth, and Massive X is coming out this month). Granted, the effects aren't so useful, seeing as we already have a bunch of them. I don' regret my Komplete Ultimate at all, and I'm updating to 12 tomorrow (when Summer of Sales starts).

Any here still using Absynth 5?
Yes, mostly for the mutator. It's genius.
Pick a random preset, mutate it a few times, feed the synth from an arpeggiator and pretend you are a proper sound designer....
When you want a bit of inspiration it's hard to beat.
My other "go to" inspiration is Omnisphere (Orb tab, roll the dice and drag the magic thingy around).

No, the vouchers don't work on upgrades or products that are on sale.
Here in the US, JRR is already listing the sale prices:

It looks like Komplete 12 is basically half off!
