Some random guy did a clickbait video titled "Intel is dead", forgot the interrogation mark, and Betteridge's law.

This forum is for anything not Reason related, if you just want to talk about other stuff. Please keep it friendly!

Clickbait thread title and a link to someone's video with no commentary of your own? Threads like this are just spam, IMO.

The thread's name is the same as the video's.
I don't believe Intel is dead.
Intel was late at reacting to Zen.
I'll let Linus do the more technical commentary on my behalf regarding Intel via AMD's new products.

I saw this one video of this guy a few days ago. He's bloody annoying.

If we take the time to go beyond how people talk on Youtube I still think Intel is in big trouble. ZombieLoad is still a thing.

Funny. I was just going to order in i5 9400f. Looks like a pretty fine CPU to me.

Waiting a bit after the latest AMD's offering would be a good move if you are planning to buy an Intel chip, but not in a hurry, imho.

I can't take anymore. What a mess that viddy is.

But I admit, I don't understand "clickbait" and I have no idea why the moderator changed the title to that.

"Clickbait" was used by someone who did not bother watching the video, imho. 90% did not care about the core subject, Intel, but more about the delivery, how someone 'sounds' like on Youtube. People are not perfect, are coming from different parts of the world. What should matter is the subject.
Never question an admin with total power on their forum. Just accept their decisions and move on. If you forget, they'll remind you of it. Not your forum. No big deal. It is just a forum. Not real life.
We are still not talking about Intel and all the bad decisions they made in the past few years. It would be nice to talk about that instead of fake drama invented for no logical and valid reasons.
I like the new title. A much better clickbait, imho

If I would wait whenever someone told me to wait because "XYZ is right around the corner" i would probably still be waiting to buy my first PC ever.

We shouldn’t trust big faceless corporations. They always end up evil, lying to you, or too big to fail. We can’t live without their tools, so we sell our soul to them.
I know, you never asked for that reply either.

How can you not trust big faceless corporations? Food, oil, your computer, your internet, your car, your cigarettes, your sports, your anything. It's all big faceless corporations, you simply don't have a lifestyle w/o them.

My favorite are the "off the grid" houses. Where did you get the "off the grid" stuff? None of it from faceless corporations? Bullshit. Not to mention the faceless corporation that is HGTV or whatever.

I'm not trying to fight, I'm just the messenger. You can't live in comfort w/o faceless corporations. They are there even though we don't want them.

Intel is no more or less greedy than Marlboro or Budweiser. They make a product, people use it, and they aren't really super vested in anything other than owning the market share.

Where do you live? Do you trust your government? I certainly don't but what choice do I have? I vote, it's the best I can do. It's all the same.

What I wrote above your reply:

So we agree. They own us. No off the grid for us, yes?
I am the messenger. You are the messenger. We all are. IF we still believe we own ourselves. IF.
If not, why even bother waking up the next morning? Life would be meaningless.
We vote for our government. Some may argue we also vote for our corporations too, all and the same ;)
