Yes, I agree, that would be very very useful.FiatLux wrote: ↑08 May 2019Have a library of patterns you can quickly load and swap out for trying different sequences for your compositions.
No different than why you would have a save/load feature on a device like the Dual Arp or Scales and Chords or Kompulsion.
Personally, I think having that functionality is completely intuitive to a device like this.
Again, really amazing work on this device.
Sequences from Robotic Bean - 1.3 is out!

What synth(s) did you use for the demo?

Did not read everything here in this thread. Is it possible to record from the sequencer into the Sequence? Maybe only via MIDI loopback? Via mono CV or maybe even PolyCV?
I am currently thinking about what this gives me, what i really like to have...I appriciate the Velocity CV input and i would like to this for a position offset or a strumming offset...Maybe i need to combine it with other Players if i want that features...dunno now. I am irresolutely...

Yes, you can record from the sequencer into Sequences! A Player can't tell the difference between live input and notes coming from the track.Loque wrote: ↑08 May 2019Did not read everything here in this thread. Can't say I'm currently missing patch recall BUT, I can imagine a scenario where I come up with a phrase or pattern and want to save it somewhere for later and then drop it into the right idea when it comes about! Would certainly be useful.
In terms of other things I'd like to see in a future update I'd definitely say;
* Probability
* Note repeat/Ratcheting
* Playback modes (ping pong, random)
* "Free" trigger in one shot mode (as in not snapped to a musical grid)
* "Free" playback rate
* Method for controlling pattern changes by CV (either a port per pattern, or a single port and maybe a companion device that outputs a stepped output)
And laaaaaastly...maybe a tall ask but, an option for 64 steps would be killer, and the editor could either scroll to or flip to a second page of notes.
Otherwise, again, super fun and inspiring device. In conjunction with other players it's just like...a total game changer for me.

As with Note Step Recorder RE the record button cannot be remote controlled (I checked the remote info and it is not available as a remotable item).
So, if I get this correctly: in a live setup with midi controller and without touching the mouse - if you want to step record notes you´d always keep the record button activated and activate the play button with your midi controller at will (since it is remotable) but you cannot save anything to a pattern without touching the mouse.

Damn, yea, sure. You are absolutly right.buddard wrote: ↑08 May 2019Yes, you can record from the sequencer into Sequences! I really wish the Playback modes and Sync parameters could be set per Pattern. I know they can be automated, but if one wants to use the RE without Reason's sequencer then that's not an option. Maybe a single switch global/per-pattern would do the trick?
Yea, this is actually the most interesting part for me. It gives me the ability to save a patch combined with some ideas (chords, sequences, notes) and finally can recall this everywhere directly into a song and check if it works...Better than opening songs all over and over again.

Exactly, this is due to a hard limitation for REs.artotaku wrote: ↑08 May 2019As with Note Step Recorder RE the record button cannot be remote controlled (I checked the remote info and it is not available as a remotable item).

This looks awesome! Great intro price! I’ll be trialing this soon. Congrats!
Well, there's no saving/loading of device state in SequencesLoque wrote: ↑08 May 2019Yea, this is actually the most interesting part for me. Ok, thanks. This restriction aside, it seems that this device has an advantage over the the Note Step Recorder RE in a live setup since record and play mode is separated and play is remotable. So while recording you can also play the notes at will or is this also possible with Note Step Recorder RE? (I can´t test it since I already trialled it some time ago).buddard wrote: ↑08 May 2019Exactly, this is due to a hard limitation for REs.artotaku wrote: ↑08 May 2019As with Note Step Recorder RE the record button cannot be remote controlled (I checked the remote info and it is not available as a remotable item).

Ive tested it 10 min and found it perfect!
Gated playback mode with key trig option is answer for my higher question.
You rocks, RB!
Instabuy and waiting for patch saving option
p.s. can i wait for humanize option in the future?

Is there a way to fix the velocity of a selection of notes that you have played to a set value, rather than just adjust their relative velocities? I wouldn’t want to have to individually adjust up to 32 steps, especially as there’s no numerical indicator of the level as you adjust it. And can I add my vote for adding ratchets and at least one CV lane to adjust a filter cut-off etc. As a priority for the first update please?
Actually, although it doesn’t seem to be documented, control/command clicking on a step’s velocity bar seems to set it to the same value (100?) as if you had added one by double clicking. Would be good to be able to select several steps and do that all of them with one click though please.Fraxis wrote: ↑08 May 2019Is there a way to fix the velocity of a selection of notes that you have played to a set value, rather than just adjust their relative velocities? I mean it looks good - but is it fully polyphonic? (control of velocities for every note? or a single control for velocities for all the notes in one step (time unit)?)
missing probability (but would also be more interesting for each note separately)
The time manipulation is great ....
What would be also great would be an 'articulation lane' for instruments that support articulations (e.g. sample library based stuff) (of course one can use two sequences on top of each other ... but that takes up a lot of space)
looks interesting ....
