I remember Reason 9 being reduced or on offer before Reason 10 was released actually.

Also a little in doubt.. do you think Europa RE will be included if you upgrade to R11 from R9 and skip R10 alltogether?
the Rack Extension? yes, not in doubt whatsoever. you get everything included in all prior versions when upgrading (except for the old Line 6 devices, but that was because of a licensing thing).
I very much doubt they’d push off the R11 release date by 6 months (or even 2) because of 10.3. it wouldn’t surprise me at all even if they release on the same day, or are announced simultaneously.
who knows...it could be that the reason they’re taking so long with dropping 10.3 is that they’re concurrently testing the VST fix in 11 as well.
of course, that only would happen if they’re ready for 11.

Well (I think) they've already said there will be a 10.3 so my guess is 10.3 April, Reason 11 in June. Announced in May.

I'm hoping for an even more complicated synth that I don't understand and yet another piano or drumkit.
No, wait, that's exactly what I don't want. With VSTs I now have way too many instruments which is why I am still on R9.5. R10 offered hardly anything I wanted.
Give us better MIDI and Audio DAW functionality, support for midi VSTs and free beer please. I actually fear a little bit for the future of Reason. It may well end up back where it began as a synth rack that you control from another DAW, which would be a tragedy (OK who just did the Steps action?).

I actually think the future of reason is quite bright! It's amazing software as it is and if recent efforts tell us anything it's that they're already focusing on things like work flow and performance.
Clip gain on individual slices in the comp editor is about all I'd ask for.

you can edit gain on a per note basis if you use the pitch editor. not sure how well it would work with polyphonic or un-pitched material, but you can add and edit the pitch sections, so it could at least get you partway there.
of course you can also split at slice markers and update the clip gain, but that’s obviously not going to be ideal most of the time.

I also have a feeling that Reason 11 could be released pretty soon after 10.3 will arrive and that makes me a bit angry, let me explain why. The only reason why I moved to R10 from 9.5 was the promised vst optimization somewhere in autumn last year, I didn't really feel that I need all that extra plunins and extra content. Now it turns out that I could just wait for Reason 11 to be released as well. I feel that I have paid 129 $ last year for nothingWell (I think) they've already said there will be a 10.3 so my guess is 10.3 April, Reason 11 in June. Announced in May.

Wouldn't 10.3 imply that we can expect a 10.5 before 11?
@pushedbutton on twitter, add me, send me a message, but don't try to sell me stuff cos I'm skint.

Not necessarily! There have only been a handful of Reason versions that had x.5 updates, so I wouldn't count on it as a given. As far as I can remember, there was only 2.5, 6.5, and 9.5.

This is correct. I'd go even further and say there's basically a zero percent chance of a 10.5:esselfortium wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019Not necessarily! They were both blockbusters that completely changed the Reason ecosystem: Reason 6.5 opened up Reason to Rack Extensions, and 9.5 finally broke the 15-year exile of VST support.
So Propellerhead has only put out a .5 release when they’re completely shaking up Reason, and given that they’re still working out the kinks from the last big shakeup, it’s highly unlikely they’ll start another one right now.
I asume not but I'll ask anyway, is there finally an autosave function built in? Had a BSOD yesterday lost everything.
As hard for me as for you not to be a smartass on a forum it seems
There's a reason protools, steinberg, apple, ... have built autosave functions.
I have to say it comes pretty effortlessly
There are at least 2 problems with autosave: 1) it might save (& overwrite) a version of your project that you wouldn't save yourself, 2) in Reason all audio is included in the file, so creating multiple backups would quickly fill the HDD
I'm not against auto-save, but it has to be implemented smartly.
And my comment - although worded rudely I admit & I'm sorry - is still valid: if you're using a computer for ANY work a Ctrl+S shortcut should be ingrained in your muscle memory, because it's a OS default for saving anything: documents, spreadsheets, graphics, e-mails, etc.
