The most forgotten REs are the various CV devices we were getting constantly in the early days of the shop.

Stuff like this $140 CV switcher

one RE i never knew existed till i ran across it on a deep dive into the shop during one of the big sales and have never heard anyone else mention since is the SM Multiband Waveshaper. it has one of my favorite GUIs of any RE - I've mostly used it to make lead/melodic sounds a little more interesting in sparse arrangements.
That one's a real gem

I hadn't used it for ages, mostly because there are so many other distortion/waveshaping options around, but your post made me dig it out again. It's so good. Anybody who hasn't tried it, check it out and take a scroll through the drum/percussion presets for starters. Quality stuff (if a little CPU heavy) https://www.propellerheads.com/shop/rac ... aveshaper/

Yeah that things a cracker. I used it pretty heavily for ages before Trash2 showed up in Reason (falls on his knees, tears of devotion and snot streaming down his face...)
I didn't realise it had disappeared to the bottom of the Rack. So to speak.
There's even a user here who's named himself after it (TriToneAddiction). At least that's how I always read it.

$140? Is this developer insane? Who would buy that?

This one I remember!

Spa and relaxation resorts, apparently? I was around when it was changed from a $9 utility to the package it is now. It includes many samples, and auto generates continuous ambient soundscapes. The RE format is serving more as a copy protection for the samples, rather than an incentive for musicians to obtain the switcher.

It was actually very nice of the developer to notify everyone here of the changes that were coming, and to say that if we had any interest we should pick it up before it gets repriced.

I don't know how the sales are doing now, but apparently they had a plan and a target market when the price was increased.

Is that so? I guess I can understand his idea then. I hope he got something out of it in the end..

I still use it to measure the delay of some devices and to check if PDC works.

I actually use this one even though we have delay compensation in Reason now.
I don't use it for its intended purposes though. In the Shop it says that it can be used for "Latency Compensation" and "Fine Grained Comb Filtering and Doubling". But I use it to play around with the timing of some instruments. Sometimes things sound better when they're slightly behind the beat.
So in my case this RE is not forgotten. It still can be very useful.

OchenK - EDS06s Drum Synth.

Holy carp this thing is fantastic! It's only $25!! I was a beta tester on the prototype. It almost didn't get released because of the odd way some areas of the synth actually worked. It basically got pulled & we thought that was that. Then suddenly it reappeared with a radical & amazing looking re-design. I only just re-discovered it after finding an old experimental track I was working on using just EDS06 triggered & modulated from other RE's. It's a very, very nice RE. For $25 it's a steal.

I've been thinking about getting this one. The parameters kind of remind me of my old Korg ER-1 I sold a long time ago. Perhaps I should do a Generated Refill for it...

It's a fantastic RE. For $25 I can highly recommend this to anyone. A lot of fun to play around with. I had a blast getting modular with this thing. Well covered for CV input. Modulation galore. An Lectric Panda generated Refill would be cool

I like what it does, but it's one of those REs that I tend to avoid because of the tiny cramped UI. Really wish the rack was scalable

i use ivy regularly and every time i put it in a rack i'm astounded all over again that propellerhead allowed it into the shop with that gui. it looks like something someone who has never used a computer before started making a design with ms paint but lost interest after ten minutes and just upload a cropped section of the mess they made. talk about a laid back approach to protecting your brand - whoever screens this stuff for propellerhead is a real easy goin dude...
