You Guys Need To Jump On This U-He Deal - 50% OFF DIVA AND REPRO
can some people tell about the CPU usage of these devices and include the system they are using them on. i can't find where to demo these devices so i'll just have to ask here...
Best to try it for yourself I would say. You can download a demo from here: https://u-he.com/products/repro/ , click on the blue box near the top. Then when you buy it, you can simply copy your serial to the demo and it turns into the real thing. Very easy.
Here's a site with some pics of an article with patches from Yazoo's "Only You"

and a recreation by Luftrum using Repro-1:

Brutally high CPU usage imho, one eats about half my DSP bar (i5-4570S @ 2.9 GHz)

scroll almost to the bottom
use the download button
works as demo if you do not enter the serial number
//EDIT// someone was faster
//EDIT2// It sounds sooo good but a single instance of repro-5 with polyphony can max out my dsp-bar in reason and audio starts crackling. In ableton live the load is a bit less. The HQ-Button is often too much for my computer. The MCORE-Button reduces the load a fair bit in both DAWs. I am on Reason 10.2 / Windows / i7-5500U @ 2,4 GHz

No link to purchase or download apart from the link to U-He Collection page with still nothing to click.
I don't know if it's 'cause I'm not logged in (as I haven't logged in) but when I click the little man icon top right it takes me to the screenshot attached. If I click the LOGIN, the page just refreshes.

Do you have Firefox (with NoScript)?
Allow scripts obviously. I also had to scroll down then back up to have the shopping thing appear

Never thought about it being a browser issue. Tried on Google Chrome and hey presto, we're in business.
I was using Internet Explorer btw.

ok i just tried Repro.
Not a chance i'll buy this before the VST-performance update & knowing how it will affect this synth.
Sounds great! but the CPU-usage is ridiculous !

Just keep in mind that U-He's plugins almost never go on sale. So you can buy it now and keep it in your pocket until the release of 10.3.

Would you give me a quick brief of how you check the performance of a VST in Reason

So I've just installed Repro.
Just a quick question, what are the advantages of VST 3? Does it allow the VST's to do more?

On my MAC - a 2012 Mac mini with 16gb of mem and a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7, Repro-1 uses up one DSP bar no matter what preset I play. Works great inside Reason for ME, where I might use maybe 2-3 instances of this synth.
Repro-5 is understandably a bit more hungry, but I turn off the effects (and those can be globally set to OFF, so that's really handy) and I have the MCORE button engaged, and that saves me one bar. Playing 4-fingered chords across patches, I'm getting a fairly stable 2 bar draw, with the occasional flash into the third.
This is on a SIX year old Mac with basic audio system optimizations.

Yeah I haven't got a decent spec laptop (Intel i5 7200U CPU, 2.5-2.7ghz, 4gb RAM) but on about the 4th preset I tried, the "computer too slow" message came up just playing around, nothing in the sequencer as yet.
Something else happened (it does this on the Korg M1 as well, very annoying) but on Repro-1 and 5, you have to keep closing the VST to use the On-screen Piano Keys. Irritating. I did report the Korg M1 issue to Propellerhead but they never got back to me, just the generic reply e-mail.

I've done various tweaks taken from random articles - but it was more of a "let me try this to see if it makes any difference" type of thing. Some were unnecessary, some didn't make that big a difference - you just have to test things:

Now, back to reality.
Repro-5 has about 1000 presets.
Repro-1 - 500
Diva -500
There are more free presets in the patch library: https://u-he.com/PatchLib/
Presets are useless to me
Sure - but I'm not claiming these will fix any issues or speed up your Mac.
I cleared out my login items.
My desktop is empty.
I have a solid color wallpaper.
In System Preferences under Accessibility, I ticked the boxes for Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency.
My dock has only the apps I use most often.
I disabled the dock animation.
I disabled all the 'eye candy'.
I disabled all notifications.
I deleted every unnecessary language.
I disabled Siri.
I disabled Time Machine.
I disabled Mission Control and Dashboard.
I disabled Firewire Networking.
I disabled Automatic Updates.
In System Preferences/Networking, I only have WiFI and iPhone USB and deleted everything else.
That's what I can remember specifically doing. I also use TinkerTool and use that to change A LOT of things: https://www.bresink.com/osx/TinkerTool.html

I pickep them up and I'm really happy!!!
Thanks for the suggestion..
However, in Repro I identified a button in order to save the CPU and many patches I've tried have not caused any crack and pop to my IMac.

Well if I add one repro 1 with a psq attached to it, and one repro 5 with a scales and chords on it, play a few keys and instantly get 4DSPbars I know enough.Creativemind wrote:Would you give me a quick brief of how you check the performance of a VST in Reason
