Well, I wrote a while ago that I was getting cracks and pops in Reason and couldn’t run more than 8 Europas at once. I optimized and optimized but still the same. Then one day I started Reason and all of a sudden I could have like as many effects and instruments as I would like with two blips in the DSP and no crackles even at 64 bitrate. I figured it was maybe a Windows update which had helped.
Today I reinstalled Windows 10 and Reason because ReCycle gives me runtime errors every time I try to start it up. And now...DSP maxing out and songs which played no problem before are stopping in the middle. I am sad. I’m going to try optimization again tomorrow but I really just don’t get it. It’s not like the songs have got that much going on even.
Amazing to crap in one reinstall: Fixed. Happy again
What processes are running at the same time? Did you take a look at the Task Manager?
Deactivating onboard audio (BIOS), GPU audio (yep, many cards have that - HDMI) and all network adapters improved the perfomance. Update your audio interface drivers, increase buffer size - you don’t have to have the lowest latency if you’re not recording or playing „live“.

Could you elaborate on those tweaks and regedits? Never know when one of us might fall down that same rabbit hole.
