To those who think this is a simple DX7 emulation, think again;

It's a TX-816 emulation.

Classic hardware and only for the super rich guys back in the day. :)

By the way, do your computer allow you to play it latency free like I did?

Mine is getting older every year... :)

macOS Sierra
mac mini (mid 2011)
2,3 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

& propellerhead Balance

Works well!

Trying to tidy up the website so here's a direct info & download page as well to make things even smoother.

bitley, thanks so much for that - that Short Riffy patch is incredible. This will be my go to sound whenever I want to heal the world and make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race :D

I had to try the idea and my jaw dropped so I had to create something with it. :)

I've been working on a follow up but Pheads PX7 conversion page doesn't seem to work in any environment I've tried today, finally got my old sounds working in Dexed.

(That's the first completed soundbank I ever did btw with 2 banks of sounds (32 in each) for the TX81Z. Worked on these 1989 and 1990) ;)

bitley if you don't mind me asking, what effects do you have on that demo tune, and is it accompanied by bass and a string pad? If so, which ones? I can't get over the fact how good everything sounds, and how much my childhood memories are triggered #borninthe80s

Cool! It's a full Yamaha TX816 EP with Reason standard effects (Unison, RV7000 etc) and my multisampled / hypersampled JX8P from the WBF R2 refill - all layered up. Absolutely an 80s trick, but a studio needed synth gear costing like four brand new Volvo Turbos (or a maxed out Porsche 911 perhaps) back then to create that. At least if they wanted to perform it in realtime from a keyboard controller. Many ppl went through painstaking multitracking to accomplish it. I still like those sounds as well, so that's why I like to recreate them. :)
